We recently connected with Nicholas Sinclair and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Nicholas thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I’ve been blessed to with as a professional drummer for the last 20years. I’ve been signed to three record deals, toured extensively and recorded 8 albums and worked alongside incredible artists. In 2021 I made the decision to take a new path in music as a solo singer/songwriter. . With the guidance of my brother, fellow musician / band mate Joshua Sinclair, I was able to learn guitar and hone my solo show. By 2022 I was performing over 70 solo shows a year and building a regional fan base. My current focus is recording a debut album. It’s been a fun journey to find my own style and sound and I’m beyond excited to share my music with the world. Honestly I love music and it makes my heart happy and that happiness comes out in my writing… the songs are upbeat and positive, acoustic reggae with some hip hop and R&B mixed in. I have gotten to collaborate with some amazing musicians on this record, from rockers to hip hop artists, country and even Afro-pop singers and producers. It’s hard to put the album into a musical category other than to simply say it’s Nicholas Sinclair Music. To bring joy to people around the world through my music is my mission and I can’t wait to see where this journey leads!
Nicholas, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am grateful to bring joy to others through music. I love performing live and seeing the smiles on faces young and old. I am a father of four and devoted husband so my favorite venues to play are ones are family friendly. Children have such great energy and I love to involve them in the music whether dancing, singing or playing an instrument.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part of being a musician is writing songs that bring joy to others. It might seem simplistic but truly, everyone can use a little extra happy in their life. I am blessed to have music as my vehicle to reach out and bring a little love to their day.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Daily prayer and meditation help me to clear the clutter of my mind and focus in on my mission of spreading joy through music. I have learned a lot from “The Secret” book series by Rhonda Byrne as well as the teachings of Dr. Joe Dispenza and Abraham Hicks. My Christian faith has always been a huge part of who I am and the ideology of loving others unconditionally is one that I strive to accomplish daily. That being said, my biggest resource in shaping my life and music is my wife, Crystal. Her belief in who I am and my musical abilities has catapulted me to reach for more, dream big and take massive actions toward our goals. Together with our children we learn and grow every day and become our best selves in every moment. I’m living my dream life and it gets better at every turn!
