Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nicholas Hall. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nicholas, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
The first time I truely knew I wanted to be an Actor for the rest of my life I was around 18 years old, I decided to audition for a short Acting course, kind of an introduction to the craft. I didn’t know what to expect going into it I just knew I found it interesting and was curious to see what it would be like.
The adrenaline rush, nerves and excitement I felt instantly all at once, was unlike anything I’d ever experienced and I knew I wanted to have this feeling everyday for the rest of my life.
I believe we all have our purpose and that feeling has never gone away for me. It’s the one thing I could wake up at 2AM for, no coffee needed and it all started from a curiosity and I’ve been in love with the craft ever since.

Nicholas, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi everyone, my name is Nicholas Hall I’m a 25 year old actor. I’ve been acting for about 7 years now. I truly feel I was born to do this,
I grew up playing lots of sports and even competing in Boxing and I loved it but nothing has ever made me feel like I do when I’m on set or reading a script, from the first time I tried acting I knew it was what I would do for the rest of my life.
I love all aspects of Acting, I wouldn’t particularly say I prefer to play roles in one genre or compared to another, I think what I would say is that I just want to do roles that inspire me to get to work on them, scripts that when I read them I just can’t get them out of my head, these are the roles I want to do and the stories I want to help bring to life.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me I’d say the most rewarding thing is that we never have to lose our sense of play. We see so many people as they get older feel they can’t have fun anymore but I think that it’s so important to keep dreaming and to keep believing in things.
Everyday we have to show up and play and be open to new ideas and explore which is so exciting because no two days are ever the same.
I also feel that whenever you follow your passion no matter what that may be, it will always be so rewarding and fulfilling waking up everyday and pursuing it.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I think something I had to unlearn or change which took a long time was judging myself. Either thinking I wasn’t good enough or fearing what other people were thinking of me.
Of course as Actors we have to fully commit to the character and I think at the start I held back from doing that because I was so scared of the judgement and I felt like if I didn’t fully commit I wouldn’t have to worry as much about that. I was wrong, holding back just left me feeling like I wasn’t giving it my all and I knew I wanted to.
It definitely took time but when I went and studied acting Full Time getting up on the floor everyday I was able to keep working on just allowing myself to play, commit and be free and once I started to allow myself to do that, without judgement I was able to have such a breakthrough in my work so that was a big thing for me and something I’m very grateful for.
I’d definitely tell Actors who are starting out or maybe scared to start that we all start somewhere and if you feel it’s what you are meant to do, you just have to do it and I promise it’s so worth it in the end, don’t judge yourself or others just show up and play and of course, have fun.
