We were lucky to catch up with Nia Jackson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Nia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you share an anecdote or story from your schooling/training that you feel illustrates what the overall experience was like?
My training experience was very intense and character developing. It wasn’t just the training of various treatment machines and knowing how to treat different skin types. It was the confidence and style that I had to learn. Practicing in a controlled environment requires for you to carry yourself in a certain way. The way you speak, the essence you carry, the personality, the confidence, and the knowledge you possess. I thought that I get through training smoothly but I’ve learned and tapped into several parts of myself that I didn’t know I had.

Nia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I got into the industry by asserting myself into a specific style. Being interested in medical esthetics, I planned to work in botox clinics and provide medical grade skincare services. I’ve also began to provide my own virtual services for those who are not in the same area as me. Knowing that at home skincare is going to be 70% towards your results, I decided to create virtual consultations. What I am most proud of is that I am able to treat clients whether it is virtually or in-house.
Finally, I’m a creative that has several and diverse interests. I plan to partner with VOGUE and begin my philanthropy journey of beauty, health, and fashion. Also, with the idea of opening my very own skincare clinics in desired locations. So, the intense and character developing training has definitely helped define what exactly I wanted.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
The books that have impacted my management and entrepreneurial thinking are Outwitting The Devil, The Science Behind Skincare, Milady Textbook, and Think and Grow Rich for Women.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think what has helped me build my reputation within my market is character growth and my ambitious spirit. Getting out of my comfort zone and connecting with higher-ups within my market has definitely contributed to my reputation.
