Hi Nevaeha, thanks for joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
If it was just possible I’ve would’ve started Focus (Focus on your own bag) sooner , and I started my brand 2021 after my grandmother passed I was working full time at a medical call center I didn’t enjoy I feel like if I started my business sooner I would be much farther. I’d could have crossed a lot of bridges sooner. I feel as though experience in every aspect of life is the highest form of knowledge & wisdom. So if i could of just started a year or so sooner I could be marginally better, wiser, smarter, courageous etc.
Nevaeha, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started focus ( focus on your own bag ) in 2021. I wanted to expand my sources of income. I sell clothing but soon to be more. My brand is not just a set of clothing but a reminder to the most important person you know… yourself. And that there should always be space in your life to focus on that person. Wether it be financially, mentally, physically, spiritually, or emotionally. I’m proud of being able to start without giving up no matter what obstacles life may bring me & being able to inspire other people. Many people may not know that all clothing are handcrafted in my living room.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn that’s it’s okay to be independent & get help from others . I’m a very independent woman that’s use to doing everything on my own. When I met one of my entrepreneur mentors it was times when they tried to example how I should market & run my brand I would ignore it or say I’m use this or that . I had to Later down the line learn on my own and they was right . I had to learn that it’s okay to get help and stop with the I’m use to . Be more open minded and be more open to change.
Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
One of my greatest risk is knowing that most of my sales are Male dominated but I took a big risk for my valentines sale with creating a design & pink hoodie. Unsure that I would make profit I sold out all my hoodies within the 2 week span of marketing them. I was scared at first but excited trying something new with a great outcome behind it
