We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nett Jackson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nett below.
Nett, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was one of the most important lessons you learned in school? Why did that lesson stick with you?
I attended Metropolitan State University of Denver in their Journalism and Media Production Department. I learned so many valuable skills regarding how to operate as a journalist and as a broadcaster. But one of the most important things I learned at MSU Denver is it’s never too early to start personal brand development
By establishing an identity around campus that emphasized my dedication to editing video and audio I was able to get to know my fellow aspiring journalists and broadcasters and showcase my skillset.
By getting to know my fellow students I was able establish networking connections outside of the university that I wouldn’t otherwise have access to.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a media and communications specialist that primarily operates in the cannabis industry. It’s my goal to help de-stigmatize the usage of cannabis and highlight entrepreneurs in the industry to are striving to make a positive advances in this market.
I do this through providing video content that documents their businesses progress within the industry; while being mindful of the social media and broadcasting restrictions that surround cannabis industry documentation. That way they can use the content without fear of social media services taking the video down.
I am most proud of my work with BIPOCANN as I have helped document their social equity mentorship programs. Where they help cannabis social equity applicants strengthen their business foundations and provide meaningful connections that elevate their businesses.
Although I primarily operate in the cannabis industry I am a story teller at heart and love to help anyone document significant events.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Consistency is the key to social media. Documenting the triumphs, the hardships, and the mundane keeps your accounts from looking inactive and humanizes your business. Consider conducting social media campaigns that focus on one event/subject. This helps you create a scheduled routine of content that your audience can get excited for.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Utilizing social media like Instagram and LinkedIn is how I’ve been able to keep up with clients. A simple direct message after a convention. Or reaching out to congratulate an individual or business on an accomplishment is a great way to open the communication door. Those simple and personable actions stick out in the minds of people.
