Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ness Duarte. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Ness thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The mission behind my Laser Spa is to provide a welcoming Spa environment dedicated to covering all skin tones. Growing up my Grandmother a FitzPatrick five, similar to Gabrielle Union’s tone would comment on how certain make up brands “weren’t made for people of her skin” and she would be sad. I couldn’t understand as a kid why there wasn’t alot of diversity in the makeup world.
In 2020 when I achieved my Laser Practioner training I found it amazing how the technology could cater to all skin tones. Even after my training a common misconception was that darker tones didn’t think they could get laser treatments. For me to be able to provide inclusitivity is still an honor that I take to heart.
My mission is to provide understanding because there is always a treatment for anyone. Aesthetic services can be provided to those with disease like accupressure, lymphatic massage, or a simple facial cleansing.
At the end of the day we all want to feel special and deserve a chance to self improvement, and relaxation.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a nutritionist who has worked in the aesthetics field since 2020. My specialty is Laser modalities and antiaging. I’ve worked in Dermatology and Spa Aesthetics.
My goal when opening a Laser Spa was to be able to cover the most common problems that people face. These machines commonly appeal to people of different skin tones.
There is always a service for everyone.
What sets me apart is that I like to listen to my guest and develop a thorough care plan so that they may have a chance to improve their concern.
I am results and technology driven which is why I choose lasers that cover more than just hair removal. They can cover melasma, vaginal rejuvenation, and even skin tightening.
I commonly explain to them how the laser functions to improve their problem so that they know what to expect. I believe it’s important to educate your guest throughout their journey of self improvement.
I am most proud of giving people faith, when they feel like they’ve reached the end of a road.
I started off helping men in hair removal, and have helped those ease their rosacea, develop skin are plans for antiaging, help post acne scaring and helped body countouring concerns.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
You can’t be everything to everyone. Growing up I tried to be involved with many projects and people, yet as the road narrows so do our friends and the projects we can be involved in.
We can’t always function at 100% without getting burnt out and it’s important to be patient with ourselves so we can be our best selves to provide our best.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I grew up with a single mother who had epilepsy and it was hard for her to give me the said luxuries that alot of kids had. I learned to step up very young and it’s taught me the empathy of how to care for others in Healthcare.
Having learned the bravery of knowing how to be resourceful and goal focused has been the most pivitol in my experiences till this day.
At the beginning of the day it’s important to know that we are capable of many beautiful things, and if we want something don’t take no for an answer to make it happen.
