We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful NeOsha Chin. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with NeOsha below.
NeOsha, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
I thoroughly enjoy being a business owner. However, I am not only a business owner, but an employee as well. I am a registered nurse at one of the most prestigious cancer centers in the world. Being a business owner and an employee has given me great insight regarding who my customers are, their needs, as well as employee/ management relationships. I interact with health care professionals of all backgrounds on a daily basis. From these interactions, I continuously receive feedback on what’s important to them when selecting their medical apparel and diagnostic tools. The interactions I experience with my own management team, as an employee have assisted me in developing the idea of the type of employer/ employee relationships I would like to develop here at Scrubs You Luv, as we expand the business.

NeOsha, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Scrubs You Luv was founded by a registered oncology nurse , with the vision of providing stylish, comfortable scrubs at affordable prices for all medical professionals. We can proudly say that we are approaching our fifth year in business and rapidly expanding. We greatly appreciate being able to serve the medical / nursing communities in this capacity. We have some new, branded apparel coming soon we know everyone will love!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Not long after launching our business, Covid hit. It was beneficial because the demand for scrubwear skyrocketed. However, due to shipping delays, access to our inventory was limited. Local supply of t-shirts were sufficient. We decided to incorporate nursing and medical t-shirts in our products offered. People can wear them at work or just out and about. It proved to be something I actually enjoy creating and sustained our business during the shut down. It continues to be lucrative and is one of the best decisions we have made.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building and maintaining your social media presence is an ongoing process. Go to places your target audience frequent. We put in leg work, going from parking lot to parking lot placing advertisement cards with our social media handles on vehicles at different medical facilities. I handed out cards at medical and nursing seminars I attended. Build your brand organically. The people will come. You keep them engaged by being your authentic self. Most important, be consistent on social media.
