We recently connected with Nelson Seda and have shared our conversation below.
Nelson, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
All my art is very unique because it comes from the lense that is a biblical worldview. I understand historically all people on earth I’m every nation used art visually as a form of worship and to document the times. I use my artwork to share hints of Christian ideologies, basic tenants of my faith, things about the person of Christ or hus people be it The Church or Israel. One of my favorite pieces is the drawing I have of christ carrying his cross to Calvary hill.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I was raised in a Puerto Rican household and grew up around HIP HOP culture and mainly the Nyc subcultures were exposed to me.I started drawing as a child like anyone else and by highschool started to take art more seriously. I have had my art in galleries from NYC to Tokyo, Japan and I have even curated gallery exhibitions in the past for other artists to sell their work and share their talent among peers to inspire, encourage and strengthen the bond of local artist in Nyc. I now am based in Orlando Florida and use my art all these years later as a tool of evangelism because I am a Christian simply and God gave me the gift , talent and resources to develop my skills in the first place.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
When I did art over 10 years ago in Nyc mainly , I was immersed in the culture of Hip Hop and an active Bboy, Emcee, Graffiti writer and more… I learned years later in retrospect how prideful I wad and it oozes it’s way into Art or anything creative.
I now have been back painting and drawing after a few years of no art because of getting saved. It’s a whole new process and still needing to unlearn old thinking within how I create art and the images I display

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Man gives the award, God gives the Reward….The most thrilling and satisfying feeling is knowing that when I create art it’s truly for an audience of many and any who will look. But also in the same regard it’s for an audience of one in Jesus Christ. I believe if I depict my art to line up with biblical parameters and doctrine it’s pleasing to my creator and I am therefore happily content.
