We recently connected with Nelson Moses and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Nelson thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
Carla a first-time business owner, was launching her new community-based business and needed a venue that could bring her vision to life without breaking the bank. She was nervous about pulling off her first major event — a product launch and networking mixer designed to impress potential customers, influencers, and investors.
From the moment Carla toured the space, our team partnered with her every step of the way. We helped her map out a creative layout, curated lighting to spotlight her products, and offered add-on services like a live DJ and custom catering menu to elevate the vibe.
What happened next?
Her launch was not only a sold-out success — she grew her customer base, tripled her online following, and made a great impact in the community who attended.
Carla said:
“SoHy Station made me feel like a seasoned CEO. I walked in with an idea and walked out with a brand that people believed in.”
She’s now a repeat client, booking quarterly pop-ups and workshops to continue building her empire — right here at SoHy.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hi, I’m Nelson Moses, the founder and creative mind behind SoHy Station Event Venue— a space born from vision, grit, and the belief that community deserves a place to gather, celebrate, and shine.
My journey began not in a boardroom, but behind the scenes of countless events — planning, directing, and coordinating experiences that left people inspired. I didn’t just want to host events. I wanted to create a movement — a venue that stood out not just for its walls, but for its heart.
SoHy Station was founded with a mission:
To build an elevated, artistically designed space where every client feels seen, heard, and celebrated — no matter the event size or budget.
Whether it’s a product launch, a milestone birthday, a panel discussion, or a community pop-up, SoHy Station is where dreams turn into productions, and ideas meet execution.
This brand reflects my personal values: creativity, integrity, and cultural excellence. It’s more than business — it’s legacy. And every event held here is a chance to help make someone’ else’s story unforgettable.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
In the early stages of building my brand, I believed that if I didn’t do it myself, it wouldn’t be done right. I wore every hat — planner, coordinator, promoter, designer, cleaner — thinking that total control would guarantee success. I was fueled by passion, but also by fear: fear of letting go, fear of trusting the process, and fear that no one would care as much as I did.
But here’s what I had to unlearn: greatness doesn’t happen in isolation.
Real growth happens when you build a team, delegate with trust, and allow others to shine in their roles.
SoHy Station wasn’t built just by my hands — it was elevated by those who believed in the vision and brought their own talents to the table. I realized that collaboration isn’t a threat to quality; it’s the path to something bigger than I could ever achieve alone.
Today, that belief is embedded in our culture. We’re not just a venue — we’re a collective of creatives, professionals, and problem-solvers who all have a role in making the magic happen.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Effective team management and high morale go hand in hand. Start by leading with transparency and clear communication—set expectations, keep your team informed, and always be approachable. Show genuine appreciation for their efforts, both publicly and privately, and celebrate wins big or small. Create an environment where feedback flows both ways and team members feel valued and heard. Empower your team with ownership over their roles, offer opportunities for growth, and recognize individual strengths. Lastly, foster a positive, inclusive culture where collaboration, creativity, and fun are part of the daily rhythm. When people feel supported, respected, and inspired, they perform at their best.
