We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nelson Flores. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nelson below.
Nelson, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
To be successful I think it takes a lot of sacrifices. Gotta keep your mind set in one goal is going to be a rocky road but the most important thing is not to give up whether it is to be a barber whether it is to be a hairstylist whatever the case may be. I can’t honestly say in these 11 years of being a barber, it comes with its ups and downs, but it’s a blessing to be a barber. I’ve met a lot of great people. A lot of motivation. I’ve traveled to so many cities. A lot of video shoots. A lot of photo shoots cutting people I would’ve never imagined of cutting anything is possible. Just got a put your mind to it. I told myself I will be a great barber, today, on one of south, Florida’s top celebrity barbers on forever grateful let’s keep growing. Let’s keep shining all breaks no gas if you don’t grind you don’t shine.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Good afternoon to all my readers. My name is Nelson Flores also known as Nelly da barber. I’ve been a Barber since 2012. Started cutting celebrities in 2014. It all started with my first celebrity. Client, Ace Hood, from him it went to Kodak Black, and the list goes on as I kept growing in the barber field from Artists is it went to athletes, to becoming a personal barber to ( fredo bang, Chosen Anderson, safaree) just naming a few. Becoming a barber taught me to be a peoples person because before I became a barber, I can honestly say I was a little anti social, coming to get a haircut by me will be an experience from a facial to a great haircut and a great conversation never know what your client could be going through and just to come and get a haircut. Will make them feel better. I love seeing my clients smile after my services has been provided. I appreciate all my clients for supporting Nelly Da Barber it’s an honor to be your barber!
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I can honestly say, Instagram has been the best source to build clientele, from the shout outs, also by creating Reels, and can’t forget word of mouth!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I would say the long hours, my ambitious, always on time, 11 years of hard work, and never gave up.
