We were lucky to catch up with Nelson Atkins recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nelson, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I got into the professional wrestling industry by just knowing someone who knew someone. My roommate in college worked out with the strength and conditioning coach for the wrestling school I attended, the rest was history! The type of merchandise that I provide are t-shirts, keychains, stickers, photos and much much more. I’m always down to make new thing and create things that many people don’t really think about on a day to day. The most thing I’m proud of about myself and my craft is staying relative and always in someone’s conversation (usually positive).
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
The resources that I wish I knew about earlier in my creative journey I would say would be to utilize social media even more. You learn so much from the internet and the fact we carry a walking mini computer in our pockets every day is amazing. There’s so much information out there for us to grab, it’s honestly unlimited.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist to me is the reaction I get from my peers and followers. Nothing, I mean nothing is cooler than seeing the smiles of those who appreciate the work that I’ve put in.
