Nelse , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
Last year with local support Nelse won 3rd place for Best Film Maker Pittsburgh City’s Paper 2024. In 2021 he premiered his independent movie release at Penn Hills Cinemas and Waterworks Luxury Cinemas. 2022 he had his other movie No Talking play at Waterworks Luxury Cinemas and Parkway Theater & Film Lounge, 2023 he had his other movie Unsung Birds play at Waterworks Luxury Cinemas and Parkway Theater & Film Lounge. 2024 he made a series called Off Man. 2025 he premiered Lucky Cuckoo and Phantasmagoria & Trepidation at Parkway theater & Film lounge throughout this year 2025 along with short films and music videos.
Nelse , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello, his name is Nelse Dumas Jr. well known as Nelse D. He’s a producer, artist, director, and videographer. He’s the CEO of entertainment company Unionmoney ENT and nonprofit Priceless Dreamz
He creates his own original music, the most recent called “The Sweetest & Right.” Bentley Records, with whom he has partnered, is responsible for his distribution. It’s on all platforms going crazy.
He’s spent his whole childhood in the presence of music, he’s always loved it and developed a genuine interest in making music when he was in my pre-teens. His grandfather and mother were his primary musical influences, both of whom were composers in their own right. He can’t help but be creative in all that he doee. He’s loyal to his craft that’s what elevates him to the level of a great artist.
He’s served as an opening act for a number of well-known artists. In addition to putting up his own large events, he’s appeared in plays and musicals in several musical theaters growing up. He has been to big-name industry places such as Def jam records and interviewed by power 105 and ThisIs50. He’s performed at SXSW and performed during NBA All Star weekend.
He directs and produces movies and short films that play in local theaters. He also was an extra In Paramount Mayor Of Kingstown & How To Rob A Bank and also the Pitt. Under his company, Unionmoney ENT, he provides a variety of services, including music production, photography, and cinematography, as well as marketing. What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
In this field the grind don’t stop especially when there’s levels to the game.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
He wishes social media was a thing early on besides YouTube.
