Neel, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate it if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
For any journey that leads somewhere, it ought to have a beginning. The same goes for business; however, the realization of our first step comes later when we are walking down the road and connecting the dots looking backward. The same happened to me; I consider my first step a mere happenstance, but what came later as realization encouraged me to consider it a boutique consulting business.
When I was pursuing my Ph.D. in Biomedical Informatics from Arizona State University, I wanted to purchase a Nissan Rogue. Therefore, I set out to buy the car and explored a few dealerships in the neighborhood. However, I got frustrated after encountering the sales associates who are well trained to lure prospects into unfair car deals. Soon enough, I sensed the dealerships’ tricky play and returned to my place with sheer disappointment. I was too excited to own my first new car to let those dealerships get in my way. Thus, in the days following after, I sorted to do the ground research about how the car dealerships operated and harnessed their profits in the first place. A week or two down the lane and I was already approaching dealerships with enough information to at least initiate the negotiation process.
To make a long story short, by the time I was done buying my Nissan Rogue, I was already walking with a set of documents containing the required wisdom to negotiate the car’s price successfully.
Slowly but surely, I was approached by my peers and friends to negotiate their car deals. It was then that a mentor of mine nudged me in the direction of considering setting up a boutique concierge business, and I heeded the advice.
It was the moment I thought about actually considering it as a streamlined business idea and started working in that direction. I had the business idea figured out with me and enough endorsements from peers and their references for my negotiating skills. I now needed a platform and a helping hand to expand it as a properly operational business. Thus, I had a website designed for my business, and it was then that Car Concierge Pro came into existence.

I am Neel Mehta, the Founder and Chief Negotiator at Car Concierge Pro, and as stated earlier, my first step forward in the line of business arose out of my personal need. However, once I had the website up and running for my business, it facilitated another platform for me to bring customers on board with us. To ensure utmost loyalty towards our customers, I have taught a habit of staying in touch personally with customers. We occasionally send out holiday emails to wish for their well-being. Also, once a year, we try to contact our previous customers to check if they are satisfied with their vehicles or facing any trouble.
Maintaining excellent customer relations has a two-way effect. The customers feel valued when we hear their honest feedback, which eventually helps us improve. Moreover, this sense of personal connection with our clients also helps us foster brand loyalty among our customers.
