Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to NEDY. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
NEDY, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I developed a passion for music at a young age, influenced by my dad always playing music at home and my uncle, a singer in the Spanish Pop Duo group Matricula 2. It wasn’t until high school when I began playing guitar that I truly felt a profound connection to music. At house parties, I would often find myself drawn away from the crowd, seeking out corners of rooms where instruments were tucked away. As an adult, I eventually took voice lessons to learn singing, driven by a desire to pursue music on my terms. Taking that leap was one of the most pivotal decisions I made as an artist, as it allowed me to discover my voice despite never having sung before as an adult.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I grew up immersed in diverse musical genres—from Spanish contemporary pop to rock, funk, R&B, and hip hop. As a singer/songwriter, my early inspiration came from artists like Jack Johnson. Over time, I evolved into a performer, discovering my true voice and expressing myself on stage. My journey also led me to champion the cause of anti-bullying, prompting me to establish my own non-profit, Friends Forever Club. Throughout my life, I faced bullying from peers, teachers, supervisors, and coworkers, fueling my passion to reassure others that being different is a purposeful part of who God made them to be. These experiences propelled me into becoming a keynote speaker, sharing my insights and advocating for those who feel outcasted. I actively seek partnerships to host events, concerts, conferences, and engage in one-on-one conversations. My personal struggles have given me a deep empathy for those who don’t fit in, yet I refuse to see myself as a victim. Instead, I see myself as an overcomer, steadfast in encouraging others to embrace their uniqueness and pursue their dreams.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being an artist/creative is being able to write something that others resonate with and are encouraged or inspired by. It gives what I go through more purpose. I have found that my faith has given my music true meaning and encouraging others to look to God for their value and purpose is also very important to me.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Many who aren’t creatives or visionaries often struggle to grasp the profound drive that fuels creatives and entrepreneurs to pursue their goals and dreams. While to some it may appear as simply a want to record and release music, which indeed involves significant financial investment, for me as a writer and artist, it’s a relentless inner need to create and share my work with the world. The journey is marked by valleys between the mountain-top moments, experiences that many cannot relate to because they are in such different stages of their lives. People often prioritize discussing or sharing their own interests and experiences and ignoring yours simply because they don’t relate to it. Unless one is famous, even close friends and family may not fully engage with or acknowledge your creative pursuits and accomplishments
