We were lucky to catch up with Nazli Takesh recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Nazli thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
This is a story that just took place! I have always been very logical and calculated in the steps I take in my business, and recently I decided to take a leap of faith. I let go of my stable job and have decided to jump in full time into my own business! I’ve been in the wellness industry for close to 10 years, and it came to a point where it felt like now or never. I can either take a leap of faith in myself, my talents and expertise, or forever wonder when the “right time” will be.
And I really believe choosing myself has meant choosing my students, my family, and the legacy I will leave in this world. With a fresh outlook and invigorating plan to expand my personal business I am motivated more than ever to offer the best of myself to all those that come in contact with me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
9 years ago I took a Yoga Teacher Training, and from there my life changed forever. I now lead yoga teacher trainings through Gaia Yoga School, wellness retreats locally and internationally, and offer sound healing experiences privately and for groups. I got into this industry because I needed this industry long before I worked in it. Pre-teacher training I used to run to yoga after work. I would attend sound baths and wellness gatherings on the weekends. The physical relief I felt was amazing, but the mental relief was next level. That’s what really captured me to study and work in this field.
I have dedicated my life to educating and empowering individuals to take control of their wellness. Through my specialties I want to encourage a deep intuitive connection, community connection, and a connection with the natural world around us. I want to show people that we are meant to feel really good in our bodies and our minds, and that it won’t always be easy but with the tools we have we stand a much stronger chance of experiencing joy and bliss in our day to day.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
My answer is simple here: experience and continuing education. You must always be a student, always curious and growing. And, you gotta do the thing! You can’t grow in this field without actually putting yourself out there and doing it. So… go do it ◡̈.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Being truly myself, and not trying to squeeze myself into a box that a studio or an employer wants. So my biggest advice is really to be you. Don’t try to be anyone else. Be you and genuinely connect to people. Be OK with with some people not liking you! Your people will find you and your people will absolutely love you!
