We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nazar Nazareth Gersant. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nazar below.
Alright, Nazar thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
When I had my health issues I knew I had to come back stronger and pursue an artistic career
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a dancer and choreographer from France and I just moved in LA 1year and half ago. I came here because the opportunities are huge and bigger but I had to do an artist visa and leave everything to pursue my career here. It was really hard to leave my family and my life but at the same time as I used to say, we live only once and it’s really important in my opinion to look for other opportunities when we achieved a lot in our own place. So that’s why I decided to move here in LA. I give some classes sometimes, I can collaborate with artists and I danced recently at the grammy awards for bad bunny, it’s Huge for a frenchie who just came few months ago..! I am really grateful and motivated and I hope it’s just the beggining :)
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I am not the best to give tips and advices for social networks because I don’t have million of views and followers But the only thing I can say is BE YOURSELF. I built a small audience slowly but surely by doing some big jobs and some video contents. For example my last video had 140k. It’s not huge for many dancers who have millions of views but I was really happy that my video had been shared during weeks.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
First of all, I can say Respect the culture, it’s really important for me to preserve and cultivate street dance culture. Then, I think about staying authentic, also taking risks and last but not least, see my mother proud, of course.
