We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nayyirah Muhammad a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nayyirah, thanks for joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
The moment that changed the trajectory of my career is when I added Retreats to my program. The back story is I was focused on my professional speaking career and online life coaching. Then one day my business coach suggested that I take her Retreat Leader Program and become certified in leading retreats. Well, that Changed my whole life because it gave me a chance to expand from doing one on one online coaching. I was able to transition to intimate group coaching face-to-face while leading my clients to healing retreats and global travel.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
How I got into my business first started from a passion as a child wanting to have a functional family structure. However, as life continued and I experienced the ups and downs of life childhood and adult trauma I knew that I had to do something better for myself and my children to become a better mom and wife. The loss of my father passing away in prison pushed me to my purpose in life. I was tired of the generational trauma, drama, limiting beliefs, and self-sabotaging behavior patterns that were passed down and the ones I see we create because of the lack of knowledge and self-worth, etc. So I made a decision that I would change the negative narrative of my family and help others change theirs. So I did a lot of self-work, along with studying alternative solutions for mental health is how I became a life coach. I wanted to do things more organically and empower others to Heal on Purpose. One of the things I focus on is getting my clients to give themselves permission to heal and make new powerful decisions and eradicate those things of the past focus on the present and create the future. I help my clients work on generational trauma to dig deep and recreate the things that no longer serve them or the family structure. I am most proud that I am able to help women of all nationalities to love themselves and understand their personal values and to know that Intentional healing can be created and passed down for generations. What set me apart is I focus on cleaning up not just past trauma but passing on generational healing. I want my clients to know that with me they can truly repair the areas of life and heal for themselves and others. That you can focus holistically spiritually mentally emotionally and physically and I have the tools necessary to help them to Heal on Purpose. I believe that my brand and what I do focus on the family is humanitarian work that will help this world become a better place to focus on the healing of the mind and the woman brings about a new civilization in which we all can live in peace. I provide professional speaking engagements, one on one coaching Retreats, and And also can lead your retreats. In addition, I help my clients focus on their physical health as well with my health products. The goal is to regain and create more passion , power and heal on purpose with Sister Nayyirah
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
The time I knew I had to demonstrate resilience was during the pandemic. I was used to traveling and doing speaking engagements at the forefront of my business. However, when the pandemic came I had to adjust. I did not have an online coaching business as all my clients were seen face to face and lots of group coaching through speaking engagements. During this time more and more people needed help. Lots of people were having anxiety depression and feeling hopeless so I took my skills training and life experience to social media and start counseling people one on one. I also became very creative and started creating products to help people physically. I knew that failure was not an option for my business but more so failure was not an option in my service to the mental health and wellbeing of the people.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What has helped me build a reputation within my market is being transparent, relatable, and vulnerable. I let people into my life and show them how to overcome and use my expertise to guide them and help them create solutions to attain New Results in life.
