We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nayla Saroufim. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nayla below.
Nayla, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Since I was a kid, I always wanted to be an artist, this is what I love, this is my happy place, this is where I create, where I dream.
The journey has not been easy, but I honestly I wouldn’t change a thing. Growing up in Lebanon is a very challenging life, I started my journey in advertising, but I always wanted to be an artist. I was curious about art and wanted to explore new materials and technique.
I have the chance to travel for my art, to live new experiences and explore new cultures to a simple change of scenery and opportunity to relax and get a fresh perspective on life.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Nayla Kai Saroufim, I am an artist who currently works between Los Angeles and Beirut.
I am a graduate from the Académie Lebanese des Beaux-Arts (ALBA) with a degree in Illustration and Art Direction.
My work has been evolving for over 2 decades, and showcases my love for all forms of expression.
My style is a unique blend of mixed media, ranging from abstract to realistic, and often inspired by pop art and different cultures. Since 2013, I started to focus on metal works, crafting installations using layers of steel, copper, wood, and various other elements. Through my art, I aim at transforming the harsh, industrial nature of these materials into poetic and thought-provoking pieces.
My technique is personalized and distinctive, with a focus on spreading positivity and happiness.
My work has travelled the walls of galleries across the world, and is currently featured in Los Angeles, New York, Seoul, London, Paris, Madrid, Doha and Dubai.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I am not a big fan of NFTs…

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist often lies in the ability to express oneself freely and creatively, turning thoughts, emotions, and ideas into tangible forms that can resonate with others.
