We recently connected with Nayely Valdivia and have shared our conversation below.
Nayely, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you recount a story of an unexpected problem you’ve faced along the way?
Losing my sense of self was the biggest issue I’ve faced in my creative journey. I used to do things and act in ways I never would have, simply for the sake of views or to avoid seeming boring or not fitting in. As time went on and the satisfaction from the attention and acceptance I was receiving started to fade, I could no longer recognize myself. And I’m not talking about my looks or physical reality — I’m talking about my dignity, my core values and beliefs, my self-respect, my integrity, my innocence… it was all gone.
I know that emotions are temporary, so even though the views, likes, and attention were boosting my ego and giving me a rush of serotonin, I knew it wouldn’t last forever. So I let it all go and realized that if I’m going to work for anything just for a momentary boost, I’d rather it be something that comes from being myself than from playing a character molded to fit what’s popular, mainstream, or socially accepted. That feeling won’t last forever regardless, and it may take longer to receive it by being myself, but at least I won’t feel shame afterward — at least I’ll still have my sense of self.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Nayely. I’m known on social media as Naii.elyy, and formerly as Greenskii. Since my last interview, a lot has changed. I’m no longer making money full-time on social media; I went back to working as an HHA and am now an independent contractor working alongside an agency. I’ve been logged out of Instagram for 1 year and 5 months, and I don’t plan on returning until I start gaining more traction on my other socials (TikTok and YouTube).
I’m still posting on social media, but my content is now much more focused on self-growth and helping others. I still enjoy creating skits, so I’m continuing to post those as well. The struggle is real, but I can’t complain—life is finally starting to feel more in flow.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, it’s to help by being as authentic and realistic as I can—chasing all my dreams and goals out loud, no matter the outcome. I want to share the life lessons I’ve learned, the struggles I’ve gotten through, and bring a sense of relatability online. I’m also open to watching my life change over time and showing how growth works—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.
I know this will help because there are so many people who feel alone in their journey. Some feel stuck or in hiding, not realizing that life is all about accepting yourself. So I’m all for expressing myself as much as I can on my platforms if it means I’m helping others get through life—because let’s be real, this life stuff ain’t easy.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Yes! If you’re a beginner YouTube editor and prefer editing on your phone or iPad rather than a Mac, the app VLLO is perfect. It’s super easy to use and already comes with royalty-free music, sound effects, and more. Plus, it’s way more affordable than other editing apps that offer the same features.
