Naya, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I’m the founder, owner, and lash artist behind Lashmeny, and my mission is simple: to enhance women’s natural beauty through custom, natural-style lash sets that make every woman feel confident, and uniquely beautiful.
But Lashmeny is more than just a beauty brand—it’s a personal journey rooted in love, legacy, and intention.
I’ve held my cosmetology license since I was 17, always passionate about the beauty industry and inspired by the dream of entrepreneurship. For a long time, I didn’t know exactly what my specialty would be—until my mother showed me. She trusted me with everything: her nails, hair, makeup… and eventually, lash extensions. Doing her lashes wasn’t just a service—it was a connection. A way to care for someone I love and help her feel beautiful in her own skin. That experience lit a spark, and Lashmeny was born.
The name now carries that love forward into every lash set I create. But it also carries a deeper purpose.
Having been on the client side myself, I know what it’s like to feel rushed or unseen during beauty services. That’s why I created Lashmeny to be different. Here, you’re not just a client—you’re valued. You’re heard. You’re taken care of. I focus on the small things that matter: comfort, connection, and enhancing the beauty that’s already there.

Naya, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist since I was 17. but it wasn’t until I started doing lash extensions on my mom—my biggest supporter—that I truly found my lane. What started as simple at-home beauty moments turned into the heart of my business: making women feel seen, beautiful, and valued.
At Lashmeny, I specialize in soft, custom lash extensions that enhance your natural beauty—never overpower it. Every set is tailored to fit you, your features, and your comfort. But what sets my work apart is more than just the final look. I focus just as much on how lash extensions feel, and more importantly, how they affect the health of your natural lashes. Protecting and maintaining the integrity of your natural lashes is a top priority in my technique and product choices.
I know firsthand how vulnerable it can feel to trust someone with your face, and I’ve been in those situations where the experience felt rushed or impersonal. That’s why I’ve built Lashmeny to be something different—a space where you can relax, feel taken care of, and leave feeling confident and beautiful.
What I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built with my clients and the experience I offer: one that’s rooted in care, connection, and quality. Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
“The best source of new clients for me has definitely been a mix of social media and word of mouth.”
Social media gives me a platform to showcase my work, connect with potential clients, and share the personality behind my brand. It helps people get a feel for the experience I offer before they even book. At the same time, word of mouth has been just as powerful—many of my clients refer their friends, family, and co workers. That trust and support means everything to me, and it’s helped my business grow in the most genuine way.


What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
“One big lesson I had to unlearn was feeling guilty about setting boundaries—especially around deposits and scheduling.”
In the beginning, I wanted to be super flexible. I didn’t have a firm deposit and cancellation policy. i made exceptions for last-minute changes, and I was afraid that setting firm policies would scare clients away. But over time, that mindset led to no-shows, last-minute cancellations, and burnout. I was overworking, under-protecting my time, and feeling like I was constantly trying to prove myself.
The truth is, clear boundaries aren’t harsh—they’re professional. Requiring deposits, enforcing cancellation policies, and protecting my time doesn’t make me difficult—it shows that I value my work, my energy, and my clients’ time too. Once I made that shift, I started attracting the kind of clients who respected my business and truly appreciated what I offered.
It took me unlearning that people-pleasing instinct, but now I understand that strong boundaries actually create a better experience for everyone involved.
