Navard, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
What is success to me? Success is ability to accomplish a goal that is set by an individual that sees the project of task through. My success story originates around my business, The Scented Essentials Company. Originally starting as a hobby, quickly grew into a small e-commerce business. My goal was to produce products that would create an atmosphere of relaxation. Well, that was how I created my 2-in-1 massage candles. My Massage Candles were a huge hit. I thought to myself. What else could I create that would also allow many to enjoy their space. Candles! Creating scented candles were essential. Many love candles, and the aroma that lingers behind. My goal now, is creating scented products that many could use in all types of spaces. Rooms, bathrooms, cars, Offices. The journey to this success is a long road. The Scented Essentials Company Number One goal is Creating Scented Goods Guaranteed.

The Scented Essentials Company was founded in 2018 by our C.E.O/Owner Navard Stewart, and since the first day in business we’ve been aiming to create the best selection of products and merchandise to our customers. Our business name has become synonymous with quality throughout the entire Atlanta Metropolitan areas. We do our best to ensure a permanent variety of fantastic items along with unique limited edition and seasonal items that fit any budget.
Conveniently available online, we’re driven by our dedication to become the best service in the aromatherapy business. We can’t help but smile with pride every time a customer tells us how satisfied they are with our products. It means we’ve done our job right. Covid was a tough year for business. I remember sitting there thinking, how am I about to move this product with the world on lockdown. I felt like business was going to end before it truly got started. I remember talking to my mom about ideas on what I should do. Boom! The idea came about to create scented hand sanitizer with the leftover soy fragrance oils I had. Keeping the community safe and clean was a fun project to do while also being profitable. What could’ve been a closing business, found a way to stay a float by creating supplies they were in high demand.
Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
E-commerce is very hard for the candle business. I would assume so. I find it so hard to create ways to market candles and products for consumers to view. I am still learning on my part how to push sales on a e-commerce site. I mostly sell on my own business site as well on social media. I am trying a new idea that I hope will work for my business as well as future businesses. Creating sample fragrances for those to smell that will work best for their space. Fingers crossed this part of my business will do well. If so, it’ll do well in sales!
