We recently connected with Natorea Richardson and have shared our conversation below.
Natorea, appreciate you joining us today. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.
The first client we ever got was a woman named Patricia and she is actually still a regular client of ours. She found us through an online listing we posted on Facebook. So we got in contact with each other and met at her house to give her a bid. She accepted the bid and a few weeks later we were doing our very first clean for her home. The feeling of finally getting our first client that wasn’t family or a friend was so refreshing and exhilarating for both me and my husband, who has been with me and this business from the very moment I came up with the idea. It’s one thing to clean your own home but to clean someone else’s is a whole different ballgame. Intimidating but exciting at the same time. Getting done cleaning her home for the first time and receiving our first check was the icing on the cake & we knew at that moment we could really do this and succeed!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
We are a small business owned by me and my husband Chase. We are simple people who like to just work, take care of our children and relax at home. I initially got in this industry in early 2018 when I started working at a senior living facility as a housekeeper, eventually moving up to housekeeping supervisor within a couple months. While working there in 2018, I started this business as a side hustle on the weekends and it grew from there. We provide basic cleanings, deep cleanings, office/building cleanings and organizing services. What sets us apart from others is that we have a genuine relationship with most if not all of our clients, it’s not just a business for us. We want our clients to feel a sense of relief when we’re done cleaning and look forward to us coming. We greet each other, catch up and then get to work. I am most proud of the fact that despite wanting to give up at times and struggling at the beginning we never did! I want potential clients/followers to know that our brand is something we take very seriously and always put our ALL into.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think what helped us build our reputation within the market the most was our clients and our dependable work ethic. Most of our new clients, inquiries come from referrals of our current clients. Also the fact that the way we clean and how thorough we are has helped tremendously as well.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Funding this business actually didn’t take as much capital as one would think. However the initial capital for this business came from our full time jobs we were working that we had saved up over the years and past tax refunds. And over the years we have gradually invested more into the business.
