We recently connected with Nathaniel Nolden and have shared our conversation below.
Nathaniel , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Once I got my 1st placement with G$ Lil Ronnie & Go Yayo In 2017, I knew I could make it in the industry if I just continue to work on my craft
Nathaniel , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m from a small town, wildwood FL. I got started producer music back in 2013. What got me into it was the height of the drill scene at the time, chief keef had just emerged out of Chicago along with his producer young chop. I use to watch alot of interview at that time and I came across an interview I think it was called behind the beats. I seen how chop made some of keef biggest hits at the time. Which was on the daw program called FL Studio. I was blown away like man that’s how they Making all these bangers lol. I decided to give it a try cause I’ve always been a creative person myself. Once I got into it and learned how to stack chords etc I got the hang of it and it was a wrap. I provide alot for the artists I work with, they trust me when it comes to the ideas I pitch to them when it comes to building a sound around an idea they may have. Even with visuals like I was saying I have a real creative mind so I can create a theme like it’s nothing lol. I’m proud of all my accomplishments so far. Every year it seems to get bigger & bigger for me. Since my 1st placement it’s like I have more big names wanting to work with me & my brother streets. Next step is to hit the billboard charts. We got the streets in a headlock already, our brand is for the streets, for the people. They stamped us so we make sure we feed the ppl the music they love & wanna hear. The people make you who you are.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Yes, the power of networking and building relationships with the artists. Social media is cool, but when you have a personal relationship with the artists, it makes the music come out 10 times better. You’re not just emailing beats. You’re both building a piece of art from the ground up
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Chasing placements, always going after the bigger artists. I use to do that alot in the beginning of my career. It’s best to find an artist that’s hungry and dedicated to they’re craft and you both build a bond. That’s how some of our favorite artists & producers today made it in the industry like gucci & zay, metro & future, chief keef & young chop etc.
