We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nathan Kendall. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nathan below.
Nathan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
I’ve been blessed to work on several projects that have really special meanings to me personally and to the creators who wrote/directed them. But my newest project I’m part of called “Finals” has a deep message that can hit audiences on so many levels. Bringing gun violence awareness, mental health awareness, and the affect of media’s coverage on society is something I’m really proud to be part of. I play a high school student who has been bullied and attacked, and on the last day of school Sullivan just couldn’t take it anymore. He was invisible and wanted to be noticed, and through powerful images, the audience can feel what Sullivan was going through. It means a lot to me because I have been bullied in school. I was lucky to go to a small school where I knew all the teachers; but I can see how if someone didn’t have a supportive school, or someone who gets lost in school, that a student’s frustration might turn into violence. I hope that this brings light to the issue, and youth today can choose another path.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Nathan Kendall, and I am an actor, influencer, and Mechanical Engineering student at CSU Fullerton. I am best known for my acting work with inspirational videos with Dhar Mann, but have also been on television and film in projects like ABC’s The Goldbergs, and Gacy- Serial Killer Next Door now streaming on multiple platforms. Since becoming a full time college student at California State University Fullerton, I have taken a step back in my creative career focussing on my studies, but still fulfilling my passion for acting through meaningful projects. I love the entertainment industry and have made some amazing friends, and been part of incredible projects.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I’m not able to be a full time actor at the moment; I started college Fall 2023 at California State University Fullerton to study Mechanical Engineering. But, when I get to be part of a project that is someone’s passion, to tell such an important story like the impact of school shootings on society, I feel part of something larger than myself. I am able to bring something to life that were just someone’s idea. I feel a huge responsibility to do the project justice, but when you see the final project and how happy the writer/director is, it’s an incredibly rewarding feeling that you brought their vision to life.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
So many creatives rely on social media outlets these days, and I think society can support artists just by engaging with their content. Like, share, save, comment; these actions can be huge for a creator and can bring new audiences to your content. The newest film I’m part of is fundraising right now to finish the film, and by sharing and bringing awareness to the project they have been able to make movement towards their goal of bringing this film to the world. Even people who can’t afford to donate can just share, or like, and maybe someone else will be able to donate and that’s how we all help each other.
