We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nathan Cadis. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nathan below.
Nathan, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
How did you learn to do what you do?
My journey into video production and storytelling began with a genuine passion for expressing myself through the visual medium. Having had a lifelong stutter, I was very shy as a young teen. When I turned fourteen, I started writing and filming projects at my church. This environment proved to be an incredible creative sandbox, allowing me to discover my voice in a new way. I earned a degree in Mass Communications in 2010; however, much of my education came from diving into real-world projects. I started with small freelance gigs, often experimenting and learning on the fly. Each project taught me something new, and I embraced every opportunity to collaborate with talented individuals who inspired me.
Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process?
If I could go back, I’d definitely seek out mentors earlier in my career. Connecting with seasoned professionals who could share their insights and experiences would have saved me time and frustration. I also wish I had attended more workshops and networking events to build relationships and learn from others. Engaging with the community would have opened doors to valuable resources and opportunities.
What skills do you think were most essential?
Storytelling lies at the core of my work. It’s essential to forge an emotional connection with the audience, allowing them to resonate with the narratives we create. While strong technical skills in filming and editing are important, I believe that effective communication with clients and collaborators is just as crucial in bringing their visions to life. Developing a genuine connection with the individuals I film is vital; these are real people sharing vulnerable moments in their lives, often for the first time. As a filmmaker, I never take this responsibility lightly. I strive to honor their incredible stories with the utmost dignity and respect.
What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
One of my biggest challenges was feeling overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information out there. The video production industry evolves so quickly, and it’s tough to keep up with the latest trends and technologies while juggling client projects. Time management has always been a struggle for me, as I wanted to dedicate more hours to honing my craft but often found myself pulled in different directions.

Nathan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Nathan Cadis, the founder of Nathan Cadis Media, where I combine my passion for storytelling with my love for visual arts to create impactful video content. My journey into this industry began at a young age when I found myself fascinated by the power of film to convey emotions and tell compelling stories. I studied video production in college, but much of my learning came from diving into real-world projects, collaborating with diverse teams, and experimenting with different styles and techniques.
At Nathan Cadis Media (NCM), my team and I specialize in crafting high-quality video productions that resonate deeply with audiences. Our services range from brand storytelling and promotional videos to documentary-style pieces for nonprofits. We believe that every story has the potential to inspire and connect, and we work closely with our clients to ensure their unique vision comes to life through stunning visuals and authentic narratives.
One of the key problems we solve for our clients is the challenge of effectively communicating their message in a way that engages their audience. In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, standing out can be difficult. We help our clients by creating emotionally resonant content that not only showcases their mission but also fosters a genuine connection with their audience.
What sets us apart is our commitment to storytelling with purpose. We focus on amplifying hidden voices and highlighting the human experience, ensuring that every project reflects the dignity and authenticity of the individuals involved. I’m particularly proud of the relationships we build with our clients and the stories we’ve been able to tell that make a meaningful impact.
For potential clients, followers, and fans, I want you to know that at NCM, we don’t just produce videos; we create stories that matter. Our approach is collaborative, ensuring that we understand your vision and goals fully. We aim to be your partner in this journey, providing not just a service but a shared passion for storytelling that will resonate long after the video is complete.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, my creative journey is driven by a profound mission: to harness the power of storytelling to inspire change and foster connection. I believe that every individual has a unique story worth sharing, and through my work, I aim to amplify those voices that often go unheard.
At Nathan Cadis Media, we focus on creating impactful content that not only informs but also evokes empathy and understanding. Whether it’s working with nonprofits, community organizations, or businesses, my goal is to shine a light on the human experience, showcasing the resilience and beauty of individuals and communities.
This mission stems from my belief that stories have the ability to bridge gaps, challenge perceptions, and drive social impact. I want to create videos that not only capture attention but also encourage viewers to reflect, engage, and take action. By connecting people through authentic narratives, I hope to contribute to a greater understanding of the issues facing our society and inspire others to make a difference.
Ultimately, my creative journey is about using my skills as a filmmaker to make a meaningful impact in the world. I strive to create work that resonates emotionally, connects people, and leaves a lasting impression long after the video is finished.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the ability to connect with others on a deeply emotional level through storytelling. Each project presents a unique opportunity to explore diverse perspectives and share authentic narratives that resonate with audiences.
Witnessing the impact my work has on people is incredibly fulfilling. When viewers connect with a story, whether it’s through laughter, tears, or inspiration, it reinforces the power of visual storytelling. Knowing that I can evoke emotions and provoke thought through my craft motivates me to keep pushing creative boundaries.
Another rewarding aspect is the collaboration that comes with being an artist. Working alongside clients, fellow creatives, and individuals from various backgrounds enriches my own understanding and perspective. These collaborations often lead to meaningful relationships and shared experiences that enhance not only the final product but also my personal growth.
Lastly, there’s a profound sense of purpose in using my skills to contribute to social change. When I create content that raises awareness about important issues or highlights the incredible stories of individuals, I feel like I’m playing a part in something bigger. It’s this combination of connection, collaboration, and impact that makes my journey as a creative so rewarding.
