Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nathaly Tabares. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Nathaly thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success is different for each person. For some, success is having enough to cover all the expenses and responsibilities while being able to spend more time with their families. For others is having is being in a prominent position, earning a great income, having freedom to manage their own schedules, etc.
For me being successful is living my life on my own terms. Having flexibility, being vulnerable and being more own boss.
It takes guts and determination to be successful. It takes a lot effort to be truthful to yourself and no let yourself be influenced by what society says about being successful.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I was born and raised in Colombia, South America and I had the blessing to come to this wonderful country almost eight years ago. I studied nursing and aesthetics in Colombia, but photography was a special hobby for me. I was taking pictures all the time and I was the “photographer of my family.” After I came here, my original plan was to work on aesthetics, but the board didn’t accept my diploma and credentials. If I wanted to work on that field here, I’d have to go back to school and start all over again. That was a tough decision for me because even though I liked aesthetics, that wasn’t my true passion.
So, I started evaluating myself and think about possibilities, and that’s when photography as a profession came to my mind. I knew about photography, but I also knew that I needed to study more, and that’s when I took a course and studied photography while I was practicing with friends and clients.
It’s been 5 years since I opened Nathaly Tabares Photography, and it has been a fun, challenging and blessed journey. I’ve had the opportunity to serve many families through the valuable gift of capturing a precious moment in time. Time goes so fast that we miss a lot of wonderful moments, and that’s why I think the work I do for the people I serve is important. Through these three years, I had even made friendships with some of my clients. We’ve become more than a transaction, and more like family.
Through this journey, I have encountered doubts, fears, negative thoughts and words, setbacks, but I have a personal motto that always pushes me through the hard times. INSIST, PERSIST AND NEVER DESIST. I believe in those words and on the power of positive thoughts. But most importantly in the power of God’s hand in your life and on any endeavor you’re in. I’m here because of Him.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Stay in touch with clients is super important for me. This creates a long lasting relationship that goes beyond an exchange of services. I’m very intentional about staying in touch with past clients by putting in my calendar to call my clients at least twice every year. They also receive emails from me updating them with upcoming events and with amazing blogs that I share through my newsletter.
