Nathalie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
I started my business six years ago, when I was at a crossroads in my career. I was almost done completing my degree in business and was deciding whether I wanted to stay in my field or pursue something different. Starting my business seemed like the perfect solution to explore my interests without committing to a job or career path. The job I was in was becoming depressing. I felt trapped with and had no creative space to grow.
If I had started sooner, I likely wouldn’t have had the same level of knowledge or experience as I do now. I’m sure I would have made some mistakes along the way, but I also believe I would have had the opportunity to learn more quickly. On the other hand, if I had waited to start my business, I might have had more resources and guidance available to me.
Looking back, I think I made the right decision to start my business when I did; I’m glad I had the opportunity to learn so much in such a short period of time. Starting sooner or later would have changed my experience, but ultimately, I think it’s worked out for the best.
Nathalie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My start in the industry began in 2017. I came into the industry very determined and eager to work. I got my first client three months after I started my business. They had a clothing line. I created a website for them, creatively directed and styled a branding photoshoot, and assisted in fashion shows and branding for this company. After I did that, I knew this was it. This was who I was. The service that I decided to offer then and still do currently is Brand Styling.
Brand Styling consists of an array of things. Primarily it is the complete look of our business/brand. Additionally, I offer website design, social media design, Visual Consulting, Styling, and creative direction for Lifestyle Branding photoshoots & Commercials. A lot of work comes with each service to ensure you get the most for your brand.
What sets me apart is that I have a business schooling background, having a graduate degree in business, but I have the real Jem with real-time experience. I have been doing this before I even knew I was. My talent is my natural gift, which beats any book you can read about how to do what I do.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing your clientele is to create a comprehensive marketing plan designed to reach your target audience. My target audience are business professionals and start ups. The most effective way to I grow my clientele is to give my clients beyond my best work. My social media platform has a tremendous following, but my most potent form of marketing comes from the experience my clients have with me. I like to leave them with a standing impression on me that makes them want to return and tell their colleagues about the fantastic experience that they had with my company.

Keeping in touch with clients and fostering brand loyalty requires consistent and creative engagement. One way to stay connected is by providing regular updates through email or text messages. You can also use social media to reach customers and stay top-of-mind. Developing a loyalty program is another great way to reward customers for their loyalty and encourage them to keep coming back. Additionally, providing personalized customer service and engaging with customers on an individual level can help to build relationships and create an emotional connection with customers. Finally, offering special deals and discounts can be a great incentive to foster loyalty.
