We recently connected with Nathalie Iglesias and have shared our conversation below.
Nathalie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you take vacations? How do you keep things going – any advice for entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t step away from their business for a short vacation?
I definitely take vacations, I think is crucial to be able to step away from things and clear your mind. In an industry where we have to be on top of things 24/7 and take care of our artist is also important to take care of ourselves and our mental health. When you’re able to take time off and disconnect, you can always come back with a clear mind and focus more on your goals and what you want to accomplish.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am currently the Vice President of Plush Management, where I help oversee the careers of breakout stars such as Coi Leray, JVKE, and multi-platinum producer Johnny Goldstein.
My proudest moment was placing Karol G and Tiesto’s latest single “CONTIGO” when I discovered the song of early last year and I became obsessed with it and I pitched to Tiesto’s team. Then when I learned Karol had hoped on the song I couldn’t be happier that a fellow Colombian was part of this record.
A true creative, she grew up between Colombia and Miami, immersing herself in Latin culture and reggaeton music. Nathalie began her journey in the music industry under the mentorship of Aton Ben-Horin, the Global Vice President of A&R for Warner Music Group and owner of Plush Recording Studios. My Spanish speaking skills were the ones that really got me this job because there were these songs that no one knew what they were saying and they played them for me and I was giving me opinion, 12 hours later I landed this job.
Right now I’ve spent most of my year working in China with my artist Faouzia, we just completed a show called Singer and doing another show called The Next Singer, we’ve also done some festivals here in the country. I help oversee everything that goes on with each episode, song choice, outfits, promotions, new opportunities etc.
For my other producer clients I always make sure they are in the best sessions possible with the best collaborators, as well as getting their songs placed with the best artists !

Have you ever had to pivot?
My true passion growing up was film, my dream was to become a big film producer. I went to school for visual communications and got a degree in set design and film producing. When I graduated college here in LA I started applying to jobs, and nothing ever landed. I got turned down from ALL of them, I’m not lying! Years went by and I didn’t land one job. When COVID happened I was forced to go back to Colombia because I was unemployed. After COVID ended I came back to LA to see my friends, and this is where I met my current boss at a dinner. We started talking and he showed me some songs, and he said I had “good ears” I excitedly told me to hire me right on the spot, 12 hours later I had a job in music (an industry I didn’t think of going after) and now it’s been three years and im the Vice President of Plush Management.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
TikTok is a big tool I use to find new artist, I have trained my algorithm to show me what’s out there. When I see someone that I like, I deep dive into their profile both on TikTok and Instagram and I DM them and start a conversation and see where it goes. Some other times, I get a lot of emails from artist/producers/songwriters reaching out to me, sending their music, etc. And lastly word of mouth is very important, the music industry is actually pretty small and everyone knows everyone, so sometimes friends from the industry will recommend me as a manager if they see if its a good fit.
