We recently connected with Nate Shy and have shared our conversation below.
Nate, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Definitely after graduating high school. I always took music serious since the start even if it sounded horrible in the beginning. Writing was my therapy and still is to be honest. If you really listen to what I got to say you’ll know what i’m talking about.

Nate, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Nate Shy. I am a musician from (Brawley, California) in the Imperial Valley. I’ve been writing music since I was seventeen years old. I was brought in by a friend I met in high school who recorded his own music in his bedroom and started chasing the dream ever since. My proudest accomplishments have definitely been working with a few artists I looked up to coming into this industry. Even shaking hands with some of my inspirations has been an honor itself. The commitment to it has definitely been something I take pride in being non-stop for the last five years. I think what sets me apart from other artists is definitely my beat choices and writing. I usually let emotion take the pen which isn’t so easy on me sometimes.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
I would say people not knowing how much is really put into the craft and not speaking financially but emotionally and physically. It’s all built from the ground up.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The feeling you get knowing that you get to be yourself with what you make. The love goes a long way too.
