We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nate House a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nate, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump right into the heart of things. Outsiders often think businesses or industries have much larger profit margins than they actually do – the reason is that outsiders are often unaware of the biggest challenges to profitability in various industries – what’s the biggest challenge to profitability in your industry?
Fashion is often one of those things that constantly changes with the time. Your idea could be popular one day and a thing of the past tomorrow. That’s why we strive to stay true to self when it comes to NNW: The Brand. There’s no room to fit in. We’re all about standing out. There’s a lot of competition out here, especially locally. In order to catch the eye of the consumer, we must present them with something so clever and unique that they can’ pass it up.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m Nate House. One half of Never Not Workin (NNW: The Brand). My business partner, Curt Corona, had this idea of creating a brand that would stand out in the music industry. He originally wanted Never Not Workin to be a staple in the music industry. When he presented it to me, we agreed that it would also be amazing as apparel. It’s marketable. It’s motivational. It’s literally what we, as a people, spend our lives doing to get to the next step.
We brought it to life November of 2021. Our quality has advanced, the ideas are steadily flowing, and the customer feedback has been nothing short of relieving. We’re remaining consistent within the social media realm and this year we vowed to take it to a physical aspect. Pop up Shops, Festivals. We’re working to spread the brand as far as we can take it.
NNW: The Brand is your apparel one stop shop. We sell shirts, hats, hoodies, sweatshirts, and gym clothing. Never Not Workin is a way of life. It’s something you can’t deny. No matter what you’re doing, you’re always working to be better at what you believe in.
The support from the people has been phenomenal. The amount of people that would love to see the brand succeed is just baffling. When properly provided an opportunity, We’re going to pay back the same amount of support that was given. I believe we all should have support in one way or another. When I came into this, it was for the people. The profit will come, but the people matter the most.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Initially, NNW started as a “prepared when ordered” style of business. We used our own personal funds along with pre-orders to keep us afloat. It was the most feasible way to get started in the heart of a pandemic. We started out sourcing to manufacturers and then soon we were the manufacturers. Now, we mass produce. Consistency funds our company now.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
SOCIAL MEDIA. Social media plays a HUGE part in reputation. Quality visuals, Ads, being relatable, and just all around showing love to your clientele. Giving gratitude on social media can change your entire life. Most importantly, networking. Networking and having those good solid relationships with people in every corner of life. I’ve been provided so much insight into this industry due to my networking capabilities. People are always willing to help what they believe in.
