Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nate Franchesco. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nate , appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Honestly, every style I touch means something to me — that’s what keeps me going. I’ve always loved creating across the board, whether it’s jazz, metal, funk, classical, or bossa nova., flamenco. etc… But if I had to single one out, I’d say my project Reflections really hit home.
That EP was a collection of pieces I had written years earlier, and going back to them after everything I’d been through — physically, personally, musically — felt like closing a circle. In 2019, I dealt with severe spinal and nerve issues that nearly sidelined me. For a moment I thought I might lose the ability to play at the level I was used to. Rebuilding myself through that time, then rediscovering and remixing those older tracks, reminded me why I started all this in the first place.
It wasn’t just about polishing old material — it was about proving to myself that I could still do it, still reach people, and still push forward no matter what. The circumstances gave that music a new kind of weight.
So for me, Reflections wasn’t just a project, it was proof: proof that my love for music across all styles isn’t just a passion, it’s part of who I am. That’s why it’s meaningful — it’s a small part of my story, from a past time written in sound.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
About Me, My Work, and My Brand
I’m Nate Franchesco, a Los Angeles–based multi-instrumentalist with almost four decades of experience. I’ve been playing guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and more since I was a kid, and over time I built my craft to the point where I can play nearly any style by ear — from jazz and funk to shred metal, bossa nova, classical, and beyond. That versatility is really at the heart of my brand — I like to say I’m a “genre assassin.”
I got into this craft the long way — no PR team, no shortcuts — just years of practice, recording, and releasing music independently. My catalog spans solo albums, instrumental EPs, and collaborations with vocalists and instrumentalists from around the world. What I provide isn’t just music in one box — it’s proof that an artist can be truly multi-genre without losing identity.
What sets me apart is that I handle nearly everything myself: the writing, arranging, playing, producing, and even the SEO/branding work that gets my music in front of people. I’ve distributed through DistroKid, TuneCore, and Catapult; built a Google Knowledge Panel; verified on Spotify, YouTube, and Facebook; and kept my presence consistent across platforms without leaning on a PR machine. My “product,” if you will, is both the music and the example — that you can build a serious footprint organically.
I’m most proud of my ability to stay consistent despite setbacks. I overcame like spinal surgery among other things— and still maintained a lean, disciplined lifestyle while keeping my output steady. I want fans, collaborators, and readers to know that my work is about resilience, authenticity, and range. If you listen to my catalog, you’ll hear me jump from a flamenco-style piece like Domador De Toros, to a smooth jazz take on The Carpenters, to a shred EP like Quantum Havoc. That range isn’t an accident — it’s who I am.
At the end of the day, what I want people to know is simple: I’m not just an IG musician or a niche artist. I’m a lifelong creative who’s built a body of work across genres, platforms, and eras. My brand is discipline, authenticity, and versatility. If you follow me, you’re not just getting one lane — you’re getting every lane, filtered through my drive to keep creating.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One of the most meaningful tests of resilience came in 2019. I had to face down physical setbacks that made me rethink how I trained, played, and even lived day to day. Instead of slowing down, I shifted gears: I went back into my vault, pulled older material, and rebuilt it with fresh ears and maturity. That became Reflections, an EP that wasn’t just about releasing songs — it was about proving to myself I could keep creating regardless of circumstance. It reminded me that music isn’t tied to one season of life. It evolves with you, and so long as you adapt, the work goes on.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is simple and stubborn: to prove a musician can be wildly versatile and still authentic. I call it being a “genre assassin” — not a gimmick, but a promise: I’ll honestly inhabit jazz, bossa, flamenco, metal, funk, and experimental spaces without sounding like I’m faking any of them. Practically, that means a steady pipeline of releases (bi-weekly singles, EP series like Reflections and the upcoming Guest Pass), tight DIY control over production and metadata, and a focus on maintaining a documented, verifiable catalog (YouTube OAC, Spotify verified, Google Knowledge Panel etc,,,). Creatively I want to expand listeners’ expectations — when people hear a new Nate track they should expect a surprise, but also trust it’s real. Professionally I want to keep the independence: no full-time PR team, just smart plays, partnerships, and relentless craftsmanship. Ultimately I want my work to be a blueprint for other artists who want to build legitimacy on skill and grit, not shortcuts.
