Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natasha Zoryk . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Natasha, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Too often the media represents innovation as something magical that only high-flying tech billionaires and upstarts engage in – but the truth is almost every business owner has to regularly innovate in small and big ways in order for their businesses to survive and thrive. Can you share a story that highlights something innovative you’ve done over the course of your career?
The most innovative (and risky) thing I’ve done to date in my business has been creating and launching a tech company!
I leverage my personal brand and success from my Natasha Zoryk brand to really skyrocket the success with Azura, the communication platform I built.
Traditionally, with mentorship, speaking, education, etc I see profits before the big outpour of work and time — with the app it was quite the opposite. I had to put blood, sweat, tears, and a whoooole lot of cash towards a dream that’s yet confirmed to see success! It was scary, but hands down the coolest, most rewarding risk I’ve ever taken!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a Canadian gal and it all started back in 2019 when I was about to graduate university, I had juuuust secured a “dream job” right out of school in my field and it had a great salary. A total dream come true, the ticket to success as a 21 year old, right?
Wrong, I couldn’t shake this feeling of being stuck and uninspired with where my life and career path was headed. Where on paper it was a dream, internally it was a battle. Struggling between making others proud or making myself proud, I decided to venture out and pursue consulting. With that, I created a snazzy website as an online resume and it wasn’t until a friend of mine whom ones a successful beauty clinic in Ottawa saw it and asked for a favour. She asked if I could design her company website and with zero expectations I excitedly agreed. Once we launched the site, the inquiries came flooding in — I quickly turned my basic website into a business overnight and within one month, I hit five figures…and then same thing the next month, and the next. Month 3? I quit and went all in on this wild journey of entrepreneurship.
I quickly blossomed into a full design and digital marketing agency, stuck that out for a couple of year. Saw crazy success, scaled to multi-6 figures, booked my first speaking events, and really built up that personal brand. I’m 2020 I left all that behind to pursue mentorship, I closed down everything, rebranded, rebuilt, and in a few short months, I 4x in my income.
My mentorship is all about breaking the rules with marketing, building a memorable personal brand, sales psychology, having FUN, and really cultivating powerful communities — i offers a wide variety of masterminds, passive courses, group offers, private coaching, and such!
Speaking of personal brand, here are a few ~flash card~ style facts about my brand & I:
– known as the founder who got hit by a bus Regina George style back in 2020 a week before my biggest keynote speaking event haha (I have a podcast episode on it)
– Im all about fusing laughter into business. I often say laughter is the backbone of my business and the cackle would certainly agree with that
– I think to think I’m Gordon Ramsey approved with my culinary skills, but thats certainly not the case hahaha. Cooking is just such a passion of mine and really helps me decompress from work at the end of the day!
Moving on from the quick fun facts, my mentorship, speaking, and education business blew up from 2021-2023 Working with clients around the globe, booked out, scaling, and connecting with top industry leaders. All this success from the 2 businesses, brought me to my 3rd business, my app.
I saw a gap the online industry. We all pour SO much love, effort, and money into building a memorable brand. We invest thousands of dollars in mentorship and service — yet we use platforms to communicate and serve on that couldnt clash more with our unique brands even if they tried.
And voila, there came Azura — the first female-led communication platform built by the industry, for the industry!
Presently, I’m scaling both my mentorship business and Azura — seeing immense success it’s been such a beautiful, yet challenging ride! 2024 is going to be one for the books, that’s for sure!
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
This is a proud post moment!
Tons of people have asked me how the heck I’ve funded an entire app, who were my investors, how did I even take 4 whole months off of selling and get the business of the ground.
The answer is, myself!
I was able to be my own “angel investor” through my operating corporation with the Natasha Zoryk brand. I had a HUGE year in 2023, i mentored some really big names, respected 7 figure founders, and scaled fast. The first 3 quarters really set the tone for the 4th.
I FULLY funded my 6 figure + passion project solely through my recurring income and took 4 months off to plan, prep, and master the launch of the app.
How did I do it exactly?
I really poured tons of love and time into my mentorship business. I built luxury systems, a solid client experience, poured into my podcast and content – this naturally attracted a higher level type of client. Referrals rolled in and I secured consistent 6 figure months, it was such a blessing, but backed by intentional hard work.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I’ll bullet off this question because there’s a few key takeaways here:
1. Genuine, honest relationships
Pouring into my people via DMs, networking, and basic chats has been a PILLAR in my business. I’ve really taken the time to love on my people and love on them consistently. Tons of laughs, tons of tips shared, and tons of tears mutually shed!
2. Buyer psych – I deeeeply understand how to not only sell, but sell the humans on a personable, individual level. I always say, buyer psych is like the love languages of sales. If you love on your people the way they want to be loved on, you’ll become 1) liked 2) memorable – I’ve really prioritized not speaking to mass messages, conforming to traditional marketing methods that make your people feel like a number or just a sale and the return on that has been authentic, meaningful connections and expressive buyers
3. I’ve poured a lot of love into producing quality offers and service. Down the the brand experience, client experience, educational materials — people will talk, so give them something meaningful to talk about
