We were lucky to catch up with Natasha Vega recently and have shared our conversation below.
Natasha, appreciate you joining us today. Can you tell us about an important lesson you learned while working at a prior job?
When I received my certificate for massage I knew I needed to get out in the field. I’ve always wanted my own space but I needed experience. I emailed the manager of the first massage chain in my area three times before she even called to offer me an interview. After working there for a bit, I took a break from massage. I ended up going back to it because I love helping people get back to themselves. All my previous jobs helped me gain the knowledge to have a successful business. The lessons you learn as an employee is beneficial when you become the owner.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Natasha, I moved to the states when I was nine years old and I have a small business in Lakeland, FL. Massage helps my clients to manage their stress! My main focus areas are upper body tension with neck and scalp massages! So many of us hold tension in our neck and shoulder so, it’s important to massage those muscles! I am an esthetician as well! My main focus is acne facials but all facials are amazing! If you need some extractions then, I’m your girl! I struggled with acne during my teens years and I am still controlling my acne. I feel like this gives me the heart to be kind to my clients because I know how they feel!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I would say that Covid-19 shut down proved to me that I could do anything I wanted! This was such a tough time in my industry because we are a hands on business! I put myself out there everyday in social media to show my clients that they could trust me!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
First, you need to be patient. Success doesn’t happen over night. Second, be a good small business supporter! You will want a community of small business owners within your circle! This will help you grow organically! Plus, the friendship is amazing!! I love posting on social media, show your work on there! Your future clients wants to know what to expect from you, they want to know you and feel comfortable coming to you!
