We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Natasha Thompson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Natasha, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
I visualized Xpressivedesigns by Natasha being a multi-million dollar business before I even knew I could own a business. I used to look at other women who were business owners and say wow they are so blessed. I believed that status of success could only be reached by those who grew up a certain way or just had the long end of the stick. I knew I would attain that type of prosperity and recognition one day. I just didn’t know how. The older I became, the wiser I grew from life’s lessons, which allowed me to truly go within and find what it is I am most passionate about. And that Is creative writing and designing. My greatest milestone on this journey is not my wins but my lessons those seemingly failures taught me the courage and gave me extra layers of strength. And with this added courage, faith, and love for my passion, I can provide my clients with the with best services. I always look at time as being neither linear nor circular so speeding up my process to greatness is never an option because every step always leads toward something better!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
It was a quote that said people are like Kodak film they just need development and structure… and that’s just what I do. help people develop the structure they need beyond their proverbial views. I am a 20 yr Lupus survivor.. and giving people hope in love, and empowerment, and also bringing their creative vision to life is something I’ve dedicated my life to. I wrote, creatively designed, and published my first book available on Amazon and Google books in 2017 and it was a journey of self-discovery and healing. Chosen is a self-narrative that integrates my life experiences into an internalized story. Therefore it has characters. Plots. Themes and episodes that follow the traditional model of a novel based on true life events… My reason for writing Chosen was to build a bridge that provided a strong empirical basis for the reconstruction of social and personality psychology. To give females both young and old the tools to release the stronghold of rejection, abandonment, sexual assault. molestation from their life. Because by holding on to those pains and hurts we as humans ultimately reconstruct our personality..our interactions socially and the way we respond to life events…

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The driving forces within me are for the future generations of those who will come after me. My grandkids’ children will be able to Carry this torch of resilience and service to people. Because that’s ultimately why we as creative beings walk this planet to help those who can’t see the vision. We are the visionaries!
So passing on a legacy of service no matter what form is my mission!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
My friend Dr.Eddie Connor shout out to a remarkable trailblazer by the way. He once said never tell people what you do because what you do will tell people who you are! Something along those lines. That really hit home for me, I noticed people knew me by Xpressivedesigns no longer by Natasha they understand me as a creative being who is not afraid of being a free thinker! Pushing the limit because in actuality there are no limits we only limit ourselves by what we believe can or can not happen for us! That so exciting to me I can scream of gleeful cheer every time I think about it!! It’s the most rewarding pool of emotion.
