We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Natasha Teocel. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Natasha below.
Natasha, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. One deeply underappreciated facet of entrepreneurship is the kind of crazy stuff we have to deal with as business owners. Sometimes it’s crazy positive sometimes it’s crazy negative, but crazy experiences unite entrepreneurs regardless of industry. Can you share a crazy story with our readers?
When I started my entrepreneurial journey, I did so with a Venezuelan arepas business. It all began at my university, where my classmates were my first customers, and then word of mouth spread, leading me to start selling online. It was a successful venture that I launched in 2014, which confirmed my passion for working in the digital world. I sold over $700,000 worth of arepas and eventually sold the business to focus on helping clients who needed assistance in the digital realm. I wrote a book called “30 Days, a Business” with the same purpose of providing a guide to facilitate the process.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I founded Nat Consultings in 2020, initially selling websites. Soon after, I began focusing more on structuring businesses to be expansive. Today, I help companies grow in the digital world by facilitating their journey through knowledge and essential steps. I have developed strategies that generate millions of dollars for my clients and my own companies in the digital realm.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
When I realized that my first arepas business was what I truly wanted to pursue, I had saved some money and then talked to my dad, who provided me with the initial capital. This support was invaluable. After two years, I developed a business plan and raised my first $100,000 to enhance the digitalization of the business. With this funding, I was able to move to a place that helped increase production capacity. Eventually, I sold the business to focus on my consulting company.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I left my country at the age of 18 after being kidnapped, which gave me the strength to start from scratch in another country and strive for a better future. I didn’t want to be a burden to my parents.
