We were lucky to catch up with Natasha Lambkin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Natasha, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
At the tender age of 7, I developed an innate interest in fashion. My love for fashion stayed with me far into my teenage years. My dreams became a reality during my senior year of high school when I launched a sole proprietorship business designing prom dresses for my peers. That experience helped cultivate me into an award-winning entrepreneur. Currently, I have established a dominant fashion career while building a pioneering empire. My objectives for my business are to make an impact on a global level through purposeful fashion and innovative endeavors.
My fashion corporation, Tashee Inc., is a faith-based luxury parent brand that expresses ethical and Christian beliefs through modest fashion, media, philanthropy, and empowering events. It all started when I was working professionally in the modeling industry and at the peak of my career, I felt empty inside. After some soul-searching and gaining a closer relationship with God, I left that industry and entered the corporate fashion industry. I worked in marketing for a big fashion company. During my time at this job, I had an epiphany that I needed to start a modest contemporary womenswear clothing line that was faith-based. I saw that the modest womenswear companies did not teach their consumers the origin of modesty, and why they should wear modest clothing. Also, the faith-based companies were all urban wear and only sold graphic t-shirts. I saw a need and I wanted to fill it.
Many of our consumers are greatly impacted by our purpose-driven fashion brand. We make it our mission to solve their problems when looking for high-end modest clothing, in addition to counseling them through our prayer services and our mentorship program. Thus far, we have launched a mentoring program for fashion and social entrepreneurs committed to inspiring social change through fashion and business. The brand has also received a Citation award from the Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, for its role in fashion and ministry.
My short-term and long-term goals for the company are scaling the business and expanding our philanthropic work. Next year, we plan to tap into a larger market by collaborating with top fashion influencers. This will catalyze our long-term pursuits by increasing our capital and educating more individuals about our brand and mission. Also, we plan to develop technology that will not only affect the fashion industry but the corresponding industries as well. In addition to that, we can provide more job opportunities in our community, leverage our sustainable practices, partner with luxury stockists, and donate to more causes that are dear to our hearts.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
During the pandemic, we had to pivot our business and create face masks. Each face mask sold went back to HFNY and its affiliates to help the homeless during that time.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Our most effective strategy for growing our clientele is providing a purposeful and luxurious experience for our customers. We receive repeat clients because of our approach to providing a meaningful experience for our customers. Ensuring they receive the best quality and customer service is a part of our mission. Also, personally following up with them makes them feel like we are family to them.
