We were lucky to catch up with Natasha Edwards recently and have shared our conversation below.
Natasha, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry.
In the last couple of years, I have noticed a trend of people wanting to have an experience. Whether that’s going to a nice restaurant with music or painting and sipping wine. In the Fashion industry, the trend has been Pop-Up Shops at different locations. The location could be anywhere from a restaurant that is hosting a brunch or an influencer hosting a Pop-Up for different designers etc.

Natasha, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Natasha Edwards and I live in Buckhead (Atlanta) Georgia. I was born in NC but I have lived in Germany, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, and Texas. I come from a military background which helped to shape the women I am today. I am a Fashion Consultant. I am a mother of an amazing son who is an upcoming music artist, SOZO. I love music events and festivals, art museums and exhibits, and I’m a foodie so I can’t help that I am a socialite. LOL

Which addresses low product awareness for the designer and for the luxury customer shopper, I am offering a curated luxury experience that is unique because it’s an experience each time they come to an event that is empowered by my company. I am addressing the customers’ needs who want to experience more than shopping but want to experience the culture, and luxury, and have a unique experience that involves the fashion industry.
December 11, 2022, I collaborated with Fashion Row, and we launched our first fashion event called Fashion Night Out at Art Meso in Buckhead. It was a phenomenal and successful event. We had two local designers Phorever Clothing and Aysegul Ikna present their fashion line at an Art and Fashion Exhibit at Art Meso. Art Meso is an International Art and Fashion Exhibition. This event catapulted me to do more in the fashion space. I am currently on the board of Fashion Group International- Atlanta Chapter. It is definitely a passion of mine and my vision is to connect people in the fashion industry with the right connections to propel them in their purpose and destiny.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Atlanta is among the top growing cities in corporate business, the entertainment industry, and entrepreneurs. The competition in these industries is rising because of the constant growth of successful-minded people living and moving to Atlanta. To be successful an image consultant is needed to be seen amongst their competitors. This city is full of ambitious successful people that haven’t been seen or heard in the Business and Entertainment Industry.
I started my business out as a fashion consultant, and in the ups and downs, I realized that being a stylist isn’t my top passion. It doesn’t drive me to want to be in the fashion industry. During the pandemic, I pivoted and changed my company to a Fashion Public Relations firm. The core of who I am is a connector and I love events and experiences. I am still a fashion consultant but I am not pursuing clients. Natasha’s Thread exists to reconceptualize beauty through fashion and to assist fashion events.

How’d you meet your business partner?
Being the socialite/ servant person that I am, I met Hope Anusiem CEO of Fashion Row at Atlanta’s first Sustainable Fashion Week event in the fall of 2021. We immediately had an instant connection and passion to bring our uniqueness to the Atlanta Fashion Scene. After 2 meetings later, we start planning Fashion Night Out Event. We planned the event in a short amount of time. Through that experience, we knew that our connection was real and that we can work together and do business together.
