Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natasha Bermuda. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Natasha, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My mission as a storyteller and fashion photographer is the same- to project my interpretation of this reality and the way I respond to its wonder. This, I feel, is my contribution as we’re all trying to to help spread kindness and connection. I am very passionate about my photography and I want the people that I work with and capture on camera to feel like they can trust me. I want my clients to feel safe enough to take a risk in front of the camera and feel beautiful about themselves and who they are.
Natasha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started in the beginning with event photography, and it’s what gave me my first look at who I was and could be as a photographer. I have since progressed to fashion photography and creative directing. I really enjoy telling a story in photographs and being able to control the story and bring a creative idea to life. I feel what sets me apart is that I refer to myself as both photographer and director, and I actively do my best to bring that part of my work to life. I’ m most proud of my passion and I truly enjoy making connections with other creative characters.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being creative?
For me, being an artist means broadcasting your unique imagination. In time of hopelessness and despair, art is one, if not the only, medium to rebuild what once was. I allow my art to contribute to the conversation by bringing satisfaction and joy to not only myself, but whoever I work with. Collaboration is the most rewarding thing about being a creative.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
There is a fine line between being serious about your job and not taking yourself too seriously. Both are required for anyone trying to start their own business, but I wish I could tell myself not to stress so much. Don’t push until you reach burnout, and that it’s okay to take breaks, or even try something new. We will continue to develop new interests and adapt our creative expressions; be open to learning new things.
