We were lucky to catch up with Natarvia Conner recently and have shared our conversation below.
Natarvia, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
To be successful, the most important characteristic you need is resilience. Success is about being able to bounce back with relative enthusiasm time and time again. Pure talent isn’t enough, you need to know how to adapt and recover when things do not go the way you planned. That is what makes a person successful, learning from your mistakes and always finding a way to keep moving.

Natarvia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am Natarvia Conner but everyone calls me Tarvi. I am the mother of one beautiful little girl, and let’s just say she keeps me active. I’m a self taught branding and graphic designer, born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. I specialize in all types of branding including, logos, brand strategy, brand development, websites, social media content, and so much more. I started designing in 2019 by creating simple graphics for my cheerleading team. In May 2021, I went to my best friend Kiara DuBose with an idea to start a branding and graphic design business and she allowed me to create graphics for her real estate business. In August 2021, I officially launched Avenue 27. It is the fruition of a vision that I had for myself for many years. I’ve always been creative at an early age. Whether that be fashion, cheer choreography, photography or fun DIYs. I’ve always enjoyed expressing myself in many different ways.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
In January 2022, I fully gave up on Avenue 27. I wasn’t gaining any clients and it wasn’t growing the way I thought it would, everything felt stagnate. Only a couple months after officially launching, I shut the business down and did not touch my computer to create for months. I was discouraged, I felt like I lost my passion, until one day, God spoke to me in the form of my best friend (who is my biggest supporter). She pushed me so hard to get back into it because she knew it was my passion. I started to take classes online to learn more and to be better at my craft. In July of 2022, I relaunched Avenue 27. I was consistent with posting on social media, learning new techniques and working behind the scenes. That time off was needed for me to realize my true passion and love for the art. Now my clientele is growing and I feel like I am my best self as a business owner and a creative.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is bringing an idea to life. Helping clients see their vision become reality is an amazing part of being an artist.
