We were lucky to catch up with Nataly Manary recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nataly , thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Painting is a perspective of the world around us, and a way of interpreting your vision and sharing it with others without words. Iv’e always enjoyed art and wanted to share my interpretation of beauty and symbolism.
I wouldn’t say that I have “perfected” the craft of painting, because it is so open and free with out expectations of perfection. I never went to art school or studied art as a professional. I thoroughly enjoyed it and messed around with art since I was in elementary school. The more I painted the better I became, especially with having confidence in myself as an “artist”.

Nataly , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have always enjoyed art since a young age. I’ve seen art as a way to express my own interpretation of beauty and life around me. I am self-taught, I never went to art school or had professional training, I just learned as I grew older and practiced on my spare time. After I had my second baby, I started getting commissioned work for logos, murals and business signs. it wasn’t until then that I have built up the confidence to move my passion for art into a career. I decided to become a licensee for Painting, And Vino, a nationally licensed paint and sip company. I work as an art instructor at various breweries, restaurants and wineries, hosting painting classes. “I” have become “we”, now that Tiffany Ramirez and Priscilla Arreguin, two amazing artists are on board assisting and teaching classes in North County San Diego. We are an Latina owned and ran small business. Our classes are focused around relaxation and fun! We express to our guests that our classes are not the “traditional class setting” it is a form of freedom, where people can find a space to get a break from life and paint in whatever style they want. We push away from the traditional paint and sip classes, trying our best to offer more options than flowers and beach scenes. We are creating a vibe that welcomes a younger generation to enjoy, with creating fun videos and humor to every class that we introduce.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I wish I knew more about the opportunities to find painting classes around me when I was struggling with anxiety and depression. I was not aware that I had an art outlet to enjoy a fun restaurant, brewery or winery that I can treat myself to. I could have enjoyed art and meet others that shared the same passion as I did , through a more relaxed and fun setting, whether it’s with friends or by myself to have an art getaway. This is why I want to be louder and create a bigger presence in north county, San Diego. We want to reach out to more people to use art classes as a form of therapy. A lot of young people struggle with mental illness, especially after the Covid pandemic. Mother’s suffer from postpartum depression and art is a perfect remedy. Art is a way to relieve anxiety that college students can escape through when they feel the stresses from school, while trying to integrate into adulthood in a difficult economy.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
The best thing that society can do to support artists is to simply acknowledge and share their experience in viewing the artists work or creating their own artwork as well. Whether this is through, social media, or word-of-mouth, sharing, and mentioning an artist, and their experience with them is always helpful.
