Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natallia Mckenzie. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Natallia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?

I became a nurse in 2015. It wasn’t always so pleasant I knew what I wanted to do but somehow, I just couldn’t get it right I took a lot of medical classes changed my major 4 times but eventually went back to the original plan and I stuck with healthcare. While working as a nurse in 2020 at the beginning of COVID I remember calling a family member to deliver the bad news that their family member didn’t make it.

My face felt numb, I had no taste however I ignored the symptoms as I was just getting over a cold as I continued with the phone call, I felt my mouth pulling to one side after going to the ER I was told I had Bell’s palsy. No big deal right! Most people’s symptoms resolve and the facial paralysis disappears in a few days. Not my luck I saw a neurologist and my primary care provider though most of the symptoms resolved I was left with a facial droop and part of my therapy was to blow up balloons. I know sounds simple enough however I was unable to get any air in the balloon for months after I should have fully recovered this led me to a new hobby and I began to make balloon arches and decorate for events. I turned a traumatic event into an enjoyable pastime and started Blake’s Creations.

As we approached 2021, I still suffered from the way my face now looked, and the smile I once had was possibly gone forever. I continued my education and graduated with my master’s in nursing as a family medicine provider and started my company Blissful Glow Spa and Wellness turning my passion of turning a blank room into a beautiful event space but this time helping individuals feel good from the inside out.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Blissful Glow Spa & Wellness is a luxury primary care at an affordable cost. We cater to the uninsured individuals who require healthcare. We are available to patients 24/7 making it convenient for them to see a provider via telehealth no in-office visits are required.

We provide patients with the tools to help the provide manage their care in the most convenient way for them whether it is a video visit, home visit, or office visit. Each patient has the option of a device that will be able to access lung sounds, ears, eyes, and more from the privacy of their home. The services we provide include primary care and aesthetics. Weight loss and suboxone treatments.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

I was originally supposed to graduate in July 2022. One week before classes started, I received an email I was being academically dismissed for a low GPA I cried for weeks my dreams of helping others seemed unobtainable because I was shy .04 points of the required GPA.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?

My passion for patient care has helped me succeed in my field.
