We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Natalis Rubero. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Natalis below.
Natalis, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
My most meaningful project has been to serve as a newly elected NY Chapter Governor for the Recording Academy. This role presents an incredible opportunity to advocate for the music community, support artists, and shape the future of our industry. I am committed to leveraging my position to amplify the voices of our members and create a thriving ecosystem for music creators.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Natalis, a singer-songwriter and entrepreneur with a passion for creating infectious music that bridges cultures. Born and raised between the vibrant energy of New York City and the sun-kissed shores of Puerto Rico, I’ve cultivated a unique sound that blends Latin and contemporary influences. My music is a celebration of diversity and a reflection of my personal journey.
I’ve had the privilege of releasing multiple chart-topping singles and collaborating with renowned artists, resulting in Grammy-nominated projects. My music has been featured in major television shows, showcasing my versatility as a songwriter and performer.
Beyond my artistry, I’m dedicated to shaping the future of the music industry. As a newly elected NY Chapter Governor for the Recording Academy, I’m committed to advocating for artists, fostering creativity, and ensuring a sustainable future for music. I believe my unique perspective as both an artist and industry leader positions me to drive positive change.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
In my view, a thriving creative ecosystem needs a fundamental shift in how we value and compensate artists. Fair compensation is paramount. This means equitable pay for streaming, increased royalties for live performances, and robust support systems for independent artists.
Society can foster a more supportive environment by cultivating a culture of music appreciation and patronage. By valuing art and artists as integral contributors to our society, we can create a sustainable future for the creative community.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal with this upcoming salsa album is to create a sonic experience that authentically captures the heart and soul of my Nuyorican heritage while pushing the boundaries of the genre. I aim to bridge the gap between traditional salsa and contemporary music, creating something fresh and exciting that resonates with both longtime fans and a new generation of listeners. Ultimately, I want to use my music as a platform to celebrate Latin culture and inspire others to embrace their own roots.
