Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natalie Shah. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Natalie, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
What a great question. I think that truly depends on what your definition of success is. I believe success is measured in different ways, and each person’s vision of success is different.
Some business owners success is measured by the following they have on social media. For others, success is measured on much money they are making with their business per market.
For me, success is for my clients to have an uplifting and memorable experience. I want people to see the name of my business written somewhere and know they are going to have a great experience with me. I want my clients to be excited when they see my set-up. They are going know I am will always have quality product and flex with the changing times and styles. I want to provide the ultimate boutique experience permanent jewelry experience. That to me is success.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hey! My name is Natalie Shah, I am the Founder, Owner and Artist of Lovelie Links LLC. I am a boutique permanent jeweler that focuses on experience and quality within my business. I got into this industry when I had a permanent anklet on for two years. I wanted to start my own business to work for myself to be able to call the shots. I was looking at it on my ankle one day and went to my husband and said “I want to do permanent jewelry” and the rest is history.
I focus on experience, consulting and educating. I want to make sure when a client is making an investment with me, they are getting the right items built for their lifestyle. These chains aren’t indestructible unfortunately but if I can help make sure it’ll work for my clients and their daily life, I will. That being said, I offer a variety of .925 sterling silver and 14k gold-filled chains, charms and connectors plus strands and bangles. I make sure I am providing the best quality products for my clients that also wear.
One thing I am most proud of in my business is the ability to be able to stand out. I hope my clientele sees and feels all the emotions of Lovelie Links. I want them to feel my heart and soul that I have put into this business. When I first started my business in early 2024, it was a learning game for me as any new business Owner. I had to flex and fall into my style. I knew it was going to take me a while to build clientele, build my signature looks with certain bracelets and chains. Learn how to consult and educate too. A lot of my set-up and how I offer items has honestly been on accident and it has worked in the best of ways for my business.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
One of the best source’s of new clientele for me is word-of-mouth. It means so much when someone who has loved their jewelry and experience with me, tells someone else about me.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I haven’t had to unlearn any lessons per-say but one lesson I’ve had to learn in this business is how to manage money wisely. This business is all about re-investment and backend costs. I will be honest, I am terrible at numbers which is one of the many things my husband helps me with. For example, you might think you might have made enough money to reinvest in stock that you sold out of but you also have to remember that you need to pay your insurance, any vendor fees that come up, taxes, bookkeeping, etc. So many things that you forget are small but so important for your business
