We were lucky to catch up with Natalie Poindexter recently and have shared our conversation below.
Natalie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
NPI Consulting House’s mission is to educate, elevate, and empower businesses and build community worldwide. As a disruptive consulting house, NPI is creating comprehensive solutions to address the gaps and barriers in the funding industry and community development. This mission was curated around the systemic barriers many small-to-mid-size businesses face in securing funding. According to data, women and minority-owned businesses receive less than 2% of VC funding and by year three of operation often close their doors.
NPI Consulting House is creating affordable opportunities by acting as a resource and providing expert advice in a long-term engagement as a community development opportunity. Within NPI Consulting we have a consultancy, a virtual community, and in-person communities in two states and three cities. These communities replace transactional interactions, instead building transformative relationships across industries and businesses globally.

Natalie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Company Overview:
NPI Consulting House is not just a business; it’s a mission-driven movement that arose from the stark lack of access for minority and underserved communities in the grantmaking and funding landscape. Founded by Natalie Poindexter, a visionary leader with a passion for equity and inclusion, this consultancy is not just a business— it’s a movement poised to reshape the future of Social Impact Tech.
With a clear vision and unwavering determination, NPI Consulting House envisions a future where technology catalyzes equitable access and opportunities. In a world riddled with systemic barriers and digital divides, there’s an opportunity to drive meaningful change by empowering minority and women-owned businesses with innovative tools and solutions.
This opportunity created the core commitment that is NPI Consulting House’s mission: develop cutting-edge solutions that bridge gaps, streamline processes, and empower businesses to thrive in the digital era. With NPI’s suite of digital grant products, small to mid-size businesses can access efficient, personalized, and accessible solutions. Everything from automating research, tailoring proposals, and accessing expert guidance is available to clients, leveling the playing field and empowering the traditionally unempowered.
NPI Consulting House isn’t just a service provider, either. It’s a partner in progress, putting down community roots and building this future together. Through a collaborative and empathetic approach, Natalie, and her team work side by side with clients, listening intently to their needs, understanding their aspirations, and developing holistic solutions that drive sustainable success.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
Spend time actually learning and engaging with your team. Get to know their strengths and encourage them to further hone those skills by giving them opportunities to shine. Understand their weaknesses and provide support- including resources- to improve. Share your ideas with the team and ask for their insights; they are doing the work and have valuable notes to add so you should take the time to listen. Most importantly: always make time for fun!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe that showing up continuously as my authentic self helped build my reputation within my market. Being able to show up authentically, remaining consistent with my messaging, and being willing to share my knowledge are my guiding principles.
