Alright, Natalie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
I was in business for almost 2 weeks .When I was contacted by ABC News to do a story on my business .Somehow they had heard of me and they wanted to interview me. As a matter of fact the email they sent me stated that they had FOMO (a fear of missing out) and wanted to talk to me immediately about my company. My first client came from that newscast it was a Father’s Day picnic a movie night picnic I was very excited to do my first picnic as well as very nervous it turned out absolutely beautiful and my first client has become a repeat client throughout the years

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Natalie oyoyo I started my business after my sister passed away in hopes to bring joy to other people through picnics. I was excited about starting something new and beginning a new chapter in my life. I have no regrets at all about starting my business I think it’s the absolute best thing that I’ve ever done. I provide luxury picnics brought to either your home or a local park fully catered by a local chef. What sets me apart from the rest is that I started the first indoor picnic facility in the world in Buffalo New York in 2021 my goal is to open another facility in the Atlanta area and eventually Las Vegas and Disney World there are a combination of things that I am most proud of but the one that stands on top of my list is the fact that I did open that first indoor picnic facility in the world that will always stay with me forever no matter what! There has been struggles throughout my journey but that is okay it gives me the motivation to continue I know that there is something great waiting for me all I have to do is put the work in I absolutely love being in charge of my own destiny everyday is not easy but every day is not hard either. Sing the smiles and the joys on the face of my customers never gets old it reminds me why I’m doing this we all deserve a moment of Tranquility a moment where we feel special if only for a moment and I am honored I am proud to say that I provide that for my customers that moment and tranquility that moment of relaxation the moment of knowing that you matter that peace

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
This is a great question a lot of people believe if you don’t have the money then you can’t start your business that was not my case I started my business with $130 and a plan. I never received any funding any loans any grants any sponsors any outside help at all financially I only had myself. Anytime I would do a picnic I will put that money right back into the business to buy more product to do more promoting. It was hard at first but the first month that I opened my indoor picnic facility I made $16,000 in my first month. I pride myself in the fact that I didn’t have any grants I didn’t have any financial help I didn’t have any loans from the bank I did this all by myself I have no debt on the company and I am very happy about that!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Social media is a effective strategy for growing clientele for me it was a lot of my appearances on television as well as social media and Word of Mouth. Everyone strategy in business is different what works for me may not work for you but my experience for my company and growing clientele has mainly been the news outlets and magazines such as yours
