We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Natalie Moore a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
I have been very fortunate to be able to work on many meaningful projects in the past few years. There are many meaningful projects I would like to talk about, but among them, some of the projects I would say are the most meaningful to me are Pathways (a coming of age series written and directed by Abraham Lopez), as well as Life Like This, and Hidden Lives (two films also written and directed by Abraham Lopez and created by his production company A Greek God Entertainment.)
Pathways is an extremely meaningful project to me because over the course of filming I became very attached to the character I played (Jessica Morgan) and fell in love with the storyline. The series is very well developed with many important topics and themes and each character has an important story to be told. This project has been a big part of my life and will always hold a special place in my heart.
Life Like This is also very meaningful to me because it tells a very deep and impactful story about three girls all facing different forms of domestic abuse. The story is going to open peoples eyes to the reality of these harsh situations. To be a part of bringing this story to life by playing Chelsea is a big honor.
Hidden Lives is very meaningful because we first filmed it 5 years ago and then reshot it last year with higher quality cameras so it is very nostalgic to me. I was given the amazing opportunity to sing an original song in the film which is very special to me because singing is a big passion of mine along side acting. To be able to do both in the same project is surreal.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am an actor, singer, crew member, and content creator located in Los Angeles. I always knew acting and singing was something I wanted to do since I was a little kid. When I was 13 I started feeling very strongly that I wanted to start pursuing acting as a career but I was limited to what I could do because I was living in Colorado and the industry was mainly in Los Angeles, so when I turned 18 I moved to LA as soon as I could and have been working out here ever since. I met the amazing team at A Greek God Entertainment and they gave me the opportunity to learn about working behind the scenes and that is how I got involved with crew work and editing and developed a love for this as well. Content creation is something I got involved in more recently. I have fun with it and I think it is a great way to entertain, encourage, or spread a message in a short form way on a daily basis. I try to keep my content as positive as possible. What sets me apart from others is that I am very hardworking, dedicated, and passionate about what I do. I am proud of my perseverance through tough times and not letting doubt or the opinions of others stop me from going after my dreams.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I think the best thing anyone can do to support artists and creatives is to be encouraging. The creative route is not always an easy path to take and there are many people out there who can be negative or discouraging so in the midst of these people, a word of encouragement can go a long way.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, is very rewarding to see a finalized project and to hear positive feedback. The process of working on a film can be stressful at times, but when all is said and done and the film is completed, it is a rewarding experience to finally get to see all of the pieces come together in a finished movie and to hear that people enjoyed it. To hear that what we made had an impact on someone makes it all worth it.
