Natalie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Who is your hero and why? What lessons have you learned from them and how have they influenced your journey?
The one person that I considered to be a hero is Harriett Tubman. A former slave who became a “conductor” on the Underground Railroad, led many enslaved people to freedom before the Civil War. She suffered as a child at the hands of her master and was struck in her head at the age of 12 trying to help another slave. The incident left her with headaches and narcolepsy which she said allowed her to see visions. Harriet Tubman has become an inspiration to me in my entrepreneurial journey because she did what those during her time would say was impossible. With only a dream of becoming a free woman, she set out to escape and become a free woman and later rescue her family in spite of opposition from slave masters, slave catchers, and slaves. I cannot compare myself or my journey to that of Harriett but I am extremely inspired by her willingness to defy the cultural norm because of her dream. There are very few entrepreneurs in my family and getting a 9-5 seemed like the obvious way out of poverty for most of my life. But my desire and dream to push beyond my limitations now has me pursuing, with much success, entrepreneurship. Now there have been many obstacles which include, erroneous information, lack of capital, and mismanagement of time and resources. But all of the failures have been educational, to say the least. Two years ago I didn’t know half the information that I do now and people have been seeking me out to gain the clarity they need to expand their company’s vision. Harriett’s life inspires me to continue to pursue my dream regardless of the obstacles that I might face. Entrepreneurship may be brutal but it’s my destiny to conquer this trecherous terrain.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I began my life coaching business in the Summer of 2020. By January 2021, I had obtained 15 clients but was still unsure of what my unique call was to the marketplace. I then reached out to several coaches to seek the clarity that she so desired. It was during that time I was named The Mom CEO Coach by one of my coaches, however, something still didn’t feel quite right. In December 2021, I was so frustrated and confused that I decided to shut the business down and utilized that time to dig deep. It was during that month that I became really clear about what solution I was called to solve. Out of my own search for clarity in my call to the marketplace, the C3 Clarity Framework was created which uniquely positioned me to help other visionaries get clear about their call, company, and clients. No more aimless pursuits or implementation of various good ideas. No more searching the marketplace to find what is needed. I help entrepreneurs gain more clarity, clients, and cash using my C3 Clarity Framework!
My mission is to help visionaries gain clarity and establish long-term success in the marketplace while staying on target with the vision of the company. I am so happy that my clients have been finding success in the marketplace. One client made a $5,000 sale after a session with me. Another made $9,000 in her program after our session. Other clients have been saying that contractors find it much easier to work with them because of the clarity they’ve received. Have you ever had to pivot?
In December 2021, I was so frustrated and confused that I decided to shut my business down and utilized that time to dig deep. The entire year had been a loss financially. I had only made a little over $1000 the entire year and I couldn’t seem to figure out why. I sought out several coaches and became the Mom CEO Coach in July of 2021 but that title seemed to be the wrong fit after several months. My business was losing money every day. I was paying to be on other people’s platforms, getting no exposure, and repelling more clients than I attracted.
So during my month-long hiatus, I decided that I needed clarity. I got colored markets and a giant poster board and went to work. For weeks I hammered out my unique capabilities, my strengths, weaknesses, gaps in the market, and who I was attracting. Out of that came my C3 Clarity Framework. This blueprint tackles your unique call to the market, your clients, and your company. We dive deeply into each aspect to get a clear picture of what it looks like and operates. Since January 2022, I have been consistently making 4 figures a month. I make more now in a month than I made the entire year of 2021.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me is word of mouth, testimonials, and reviews! My goal with every client in every session is the treat them so well that they become my client evagelizer; essentially the head of my marketing team. The original job of an evangelizer is to convert someone to Christianity by preaching the gospel. I treat my clients well so that they become my converters. I am constantly looking for new ways to improve my sessions and bring value and clarity to my clients. They in turn tell others about the phenomenal experience and service they had with me. I am grateful to each of my clients. They are all unique and I learn so much from them as well.
