We recently connected with Natalie Lahr and have shared our conversation below.
Natalie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Taking a risk on yourself and your dreams might just be one of the most rewarding moments I have ever done for myself. After being a full time content creator helping women with alopecia I realized I wanted to continue helping women around the world. I took the risk of starting my own wig company Radiant Hair Co. not knowing what was next to come, but I knew it was my dream and passion to help support women in their hair loss journey’s.
Starting a business was a huge yet rewarding accomplishment. It took almost two years of endless hard work, working multiple jobs, spending my entire savings account, being a full time student while putting as much time and energy into Radiant Hair Co. before launching. Everything I had to do was a learning experience. Learning how to build a website, inventory, branding, graphic design, planning campaigns, building a team, customer service, packaging, and everything that comes with building a business. This was not a sprint but a marathon. There was countless times where I felt stuck and even lost. However, I always reminded myself that there is a never a good time to take a risk. If there was a perfect time then it’s simply not a risk but more of a convenience. When being a entrepreneur you have to want it more than anyone else. You have to be your biggest cheerleader when it gets tough. You have to pour your heart and soul into your passion. My passion, my risk, my dream was starting a wig company to not only help women wether it was for medical, religious, or fashion but to uplift women to feel confident and build their self esteem.
At the age of 22 I would have never thought my company, Radiant Hair Co. would sold out in 1 day and pre-orders for wigs would be 3 months out when we first launched. Radiant Hair Co. has now sold over hundreds of wigs around the wold to the most wonderful client’s we could ever ask for. If you are wanting to take a risk never forget what you are doing it for. I believe in you!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hi! My name is Natalie Lahr I am 23 years old and the CEO and founder of Radiant Hair Co.
I studied business marketing and specialize is social media marketing and content creation. I experienced androgenic alopecia for about 13 years, but never knew about the hair industry or the options of wearing alternative hair till I was in college. I accidentally came across another young women sharing her story about alopecia and embracing her experience wearing wigs and toppers. In that very moment it just clicked for me. I found a niche that I was passionate about and it was wigs and helping other women who also experience hair loss or wanting to start wearing hair. So that very same day I started my instagram page @alopecia_fashionista which at the time I had no idea this would be life changing for me. I shared my personal and emotional story experiencing alopecia at a very young age.
‘
Later on it only felt right to launch my very own wig company of luxury wigs that can be worn by anyone. I wanted to build a brand that not only created high quality wigs but supported their clients in their hair journey’s. Radiant Hair Co. is an online wig brand that offers custom sizing, endless hair colors, can be worn with our without hair, and here to make you feel radiant.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Before launching Radiant Hair Co. I was a full time content creator for multiple brands while having my personal account @alopecia_fashionista which was the account I shared about my hair loss story. When it comes to social media I specialize and focus on telling a raw and true story. A story that can relatable, educational, or unique to the brand or creator. It can be intimidating to start your own social media presence. I have to say the hardest part is just starting. The best think you can do for yourself is putting yourself out there and just post. Once you make that official first pot your story and presence is out there.
It can be difficult to balance social media with your career and personal life. Do not compare yourself to other’s online. Everyones story and business is unique to them in their own special way.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I am a team of me, myself, and I. I am the face of my brand, I am customer service, I am the digital creator, and basically my clients feel comfortable knowing its me. Because I have been sharing my story for so long on social media I have built a strong trust with my clients and followers. I have been sharing my personal opinion on wigs and sharing my reviews for 3 years prior to launching my own personal brand.
