We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Natalie Citarelli. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Natalie below.
Natalie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. One of our favorite things to brainstorm about with friends who’ve built something entrepreneurial is what they would do differently if they were to start over today. Surely, there are things you’ve learned that would allow you to do it over faster, more efficiently. We’d love to hear how you would go about setting things up if you were starting over today, knowing everything that you already know.
I would have spent the money on people who were more knowledgeable than I was in real estate, rather than trying to figure it out myself which had cost me more time in years for things I could have probably got done 10 years less than I actually did. I would’ve made a better game plan and vision for my company and put the right people in place, rather than letting it just “fall in place” without any guidance. I also will never negotiate my value ever again. If you pay the right people, you get places faster. It’s all about who you know, what you know; if you think you know it all, you won’t get very far. You can only go so far by yourself, but much further with others involved.

Natalie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I grew up in Long Island before moving to Orlando in 2003 after graduating from nursing school. I moved to the sunshine state, and started working at Children’s First doing pediatric home care for children with disabilities. During my nursing career, I received my real estate and mortgage originator license in 2003. While I loved working with children, I discovered a passion and talent for real estate. What I found about real estate was that I could be an entrepreneur. I’ve always been driven by my New York State of mind because as a New Yorker, you’re known for your hustle, and everything I did I excelled at. I found I was good at connecting with people, and I enjoyed sharing tips in regards to business and my experiences. I enjoy the adrenaline rush when negotiating sale, and especially when obtaining an excellent deal for my client. There’s a sense of satisfaction associated with such an accomplishment because you’ve helped make someone’s dream come true. In 2005, I trusted my gut and I decided to further develop my passion by investing in residential housing, flipping houses, and purchasing properties to rent. After 13 years of selling homes all around Central Florida, I opened my brokerage, Citarelli Realty Group. As of today, a crazy six years later, I currently have eleven licensed agents on my team and I operate as a boutique brokerage to meet all of my clients needs. I have a wonderful son, and enjoy my workdays working alongside my team, my wonderful clients, and most of all.. enjoying a day off at the beach!

Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
The biggest risk for marketing I took was me buying a Lamborghini Huracan to try to stand out and be different. I wanted to utilize it for events, as well as conversation piece for clients and dealing with the use and that was something that hit big because it got peoples attention.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think my experience and my personality helps my reputation in the market. I was always willing to help others when they had questions that would reach out even if they weren’t at my company. Helping others without any expectations of anything in return is something that I think I’ve always done and my return down the road has been building great relationships.
