Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natalie Amir-alvarez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Natalie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, let’s start with a hypothetical – what would you change about the educational system?
The current education system often lacks practical life skills that are crucial for students to navigate adulthood successfully. Classes like homemaking, financial literacy, and basic tech skills could give students the tools they need to handle everyday challenges—like budgeting, managing time, or even understanding simple household maintenance.
One story that comes to mind is from when I was starting out in my career. I remember facing challenges around budgeting and understanding how to save or invest money. I had to learn all of that on my own, without any guidance from my schooling. It made the transition to adulthood and career a lot harder than it needed to be. Having even a basic foundation in financial literacy could have made a significant difference in managing those early challenges and being able to focus more on career growth.

Natalie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started my professional journey in a structural engineering firm, where I worked in a salaried position. My career path took a turn when I was inspired by my partner, George Ouzounian, to pursue my real estate license. Learning the ins and outs of the industry, I gained valuable insights and figured out strategies to excel. Eventually, I began working directly for George, which was an incredible learning opportunity and stepping stone in my career.
After building a solid foundation, I joined The Agency, where I’ve been making strides ever since. My work is rooted in providing a client-first approach, offering top-notch real estate services that focus on delivering results. I handle everything from helping clients buy or sell their homes to guiding them through investments that align with their long-term goals. What sets me apart is my deep understanding of the market, my commitment to my clients, and the ability to navigate even the most complex transactions with a calm, strategic mindset.
One of the challenges I faced early on was having no income for months before closing my first deal. I was learning the ropes while working every day, including weekends, and balancing the responsibilities of being a mother to six children. This experience taught me resilience and the importance of persistence. As a woman in a male-dominated field, I faced additional challenges, but they pushed me to work even harder. My clients can trust that I understand what it means to navigate tough situations and come out on top.
What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come despite the obstacles. I’ve built a business and a life that’s in alignment with my values, and I’ve learned how to balance a thriving career while being present for my family. I want my clients, followers, and fans to know that I’m dedicated not only to achieving results but also to creating a positive and enriching experience for everyone I work with. My goal is to empower others to achieve their real estate dreams while maintaining a personal connection and understanding what truly matters to them. I believe in building meaningful relationships and helping people make informed decisions that can transform their lives.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One of the most defining experiences of my life that illustrates my resilience happened when I was just 15 years old. I lost my mom, and suddenly, I found myself in a position where I had to take care of my four younger siblings and support my father. Our lives took a drastic turn, and we faced the reality of struggling to make ends meet. We moved from home to home, often with no money, and at one point, we lost everything we owned.
That period of my life was filled with uncertainty and hardship. But through it all, I learned how to persevere, take on responsibility far beyond my years, and keep going even when things seemed hopeless. It’s an experience that shaped who I am today and gave me a deep understanding of what it means to face adversity head-on.
Those early struggles instilled a sense of determination in me that carried into my career and beyond. They taught me that no matter how tough things get, there’s always a way forward, and that mindset has been crucial in every challenge I’ve faced since.
Another story that truly illustrates my resilience is from the early days of my real estate career. After getting my license, I faced a challenging period where I didn’t close a single deal for months. It was a time of uncertainty and financial strain, but I was determined to make it work. Every day, I worked tirelessly—learning the industry, studying the market, networking, and doing whatever I could to gain momentum. There were many moments when it felt like I was working nonstop without seeing any results, which was especially difficult as a mother of six, balancing the responsibilities at home with this new venture.
Despite the setbacks, I kept pushing forward, driven by my belief that success would eventually come. And it did. I still remember the feeling of closing my first deal after those tough months—it wasn’t just a business milestone; it was a testament to my perseverance and willingness to put in the work, even when things seemed impossible. That experience taught me that resilience isn’t just about surviving challenges; it’s about finding the strength to keep going, even when the path is uncertain. It’s a mindset that continues to shape my approach to work and life today.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
I met my business partner, George Ouzounian, at a pivotal time in my career. While I was working in a structural engineering firm in a traditional salaried role, George helped my sister with her first home purchase. I was handling the entire transaction for her, and during the process, George’s expertise, passion for real estate, and dedication to his clients stood out to me. His approach to the business inspired me, and I found myself wanting to learn more about the industry.
It wasn’t long before I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue my real estate license. George became a mentor during those early days, guiding me through the complexities of real estate and sharing his own experiences. This guidance was instrumental in shaping my understanding of the industry. Eventually, I began working directly with him, and we built a strong professional relationship based on mutual respect and a shared vision for success.
Our partnership wasn’t just about learning the business; it was about facing challenges together. With George’s mentorship and our combined determination, we tackled complex transactions and built a reputation for excellence. Looking back, meeting George and being inspired by that first transaction for my sister were moments that changed my path for the better, ultimately leading me to where I am today at The Agency.
